DESCRIPTION
The USB-C port stops working intermittently:

there is no output from the USB-C port

devices plugged in to the port will not be recognized
the computer will not charge (using the USB-C port)

Once the issue occurs, a hard reset is required to re-enable re-enable full USB-C functionality.

NOTE: this does not affect the USB-A port.

SCOPE
Information in this document applies to the following:

Computer:

HP Elite x2 1012 G1

RESOLUTION
Recover USB-C functionality by performing a hard reset as follows:

1. Unplug all USB-C devices.

2. Press and hold the power button for at least 15 seconds.
The charging LED toggles between amber and white, confirming the hard reset has been performed

3. Power On the computer.

4. Insert the USB-C adapter.

Resolve the issue by performing the following updates in the following order:
