d.) The Declaration of Intention:

Pastor Dante: Dearly beloved, we are gathered together on this special occasion
with thanksgiving for God’s good gift of marriage. We came to recognize the
marriage vows that this couple will be taking. We come to ask God’s blessing on
their marriage as we look to the future.

Holy matrimony was instituted by God, is regulated by his commandments, and

was blessed by our Lord Jesus Christ; so it should be held in honor among all
people. Let us therefore remember that God has established and set apart
marriage for the welfare and happiness of the human family. Therefore, our Savior
has declared that a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his
wife, and the two shall become one flesh. In the New Testament, our Lord has
instructed those who enter marriage to cherish a mutual esteem and love; to
share in each other’s infirmities and weaknesses; to comfort each other in
sickness, trouble and sorrow; to provide for each other; to pray for and encourage
each other; and to live together as heirs of the grace of life.

Pastor Dante: Heavenly Father, we acknowledge that you have designed the
pattern of the family to include marriage that endures through the changes of the
years. We thank you for this couple who decided to join their hearts in marriage in
worship of You. We praise you for the commitment that binds their hearts in
Christian love, for the way You have enabled them to keep their vows in all the
changing circumstances of life. We ask that you might bless them with continued
health. We pray for their children that from this example, they each might be
encouraged to have committed marriages in Christian homes. Use this time to
encourage and strengthen each of us who are here present. May we be given
renewed grace to serve you for all the days of our life. This we pray in the Name
of Jesus Christ, our Creator and Redeemer. Amen.

Pastor Dante: As we begin the rites of marriage, we may request DAN DAVY &
SUZETTE to rise as well as their parents and principal sponsors who will act as
special witnesses to this ceremony.

DAN DAVY & SUZETTE you have here today before this Christian community to
make an irrevocable promise to live for one another and to share your love in
mutual dedication, sacrifice and responsibility. And now I ask you both to answer
these questions truthfully.

Pastor Dante: DAN DAVY did you come here freely and without reservations, to
bind yourself forever in the love and service of your wife SUZETTE?

GROOM: Yes Pastor.

Pastor Dante: SUZETTE did you come here freely and without reservations to
bind yourself forever in the love and service of your husband DAN DAVY?

BRIDE: Yes Pastor

Pastor Dante: DAN DAVY will you have SUZETTE to be your wedded wife to live
together according to the law of God in the holy state of matrimony?

GROOM: I WILL.

Pastor Dante: Will you love her, comfort her and keep her in sickness and in
health, forsaking all others to keep yourself only to her, as long as you both shall
live?

GROOM : I WILL PASTOR.

Pastor Dante: SUZETTE will you have DAN DAVY as your wedded husband, to
live together according to the law of God in the holy state of matrimony?

BRIDE: I WILL.

Pastor Dante: Will you love him, comfort him , honor and keep him in sickness
and in health, forsaking all others , keep yourself only to him as long as you both
shall live?

BRIDE: I WILL PASTOR.

Pastor Dante: DAN DAVY & SUZETTE , you should know that as you exchange
your vows of love, henceforth your destinies shall be woven into a single tapestry
in which your perils and joys shall be intertwined to one another.

I, DAN DAVY, take you, SUZETTE, to be my wedded wife. With deepest joy I
receive you into my life that together we may be one. As is Christ to His body, the
church, so I will be to you a loving and faithful husband. Always will I perform my
headship over you even as Christ does over me, knowing that His Lordship is one
of the holiest desires for my life. I promise you my deepest love, my fullest
devotion, my tenderest care. I promise I will live first unto God rather than others
or even you. I promise that I will lead our lives into a life of faith and hope in Christ
Jesus. Ever honoring God's guidance by His spirit through the Word, And so
throughout life, no matter what may lie ahead of us, I pledge to you my life as a
loving and faithful husband.

I, SUZETTE , take you, DAN DAVY, to be my wedded husband. With deepest joy I
come into my new life with you. As you have pledged to me your life and love, so I
too happily give you my life, and in confidence submit myself to your headship as
to the Lord. As is the church in her relationship to Christ, so I will be to you. LOVE,
I will live first unto our God and then unto you, loving you, obeying you, caring for
you and ever seeking to please you. God has prepared me for you and so I will
ever strengthen, help, comfort, and encourage you. Therefore, throughout life, no
matter what may be ahead of us, I pledge to you my life as an obedient and
faithful wife.

(Pastor Dante will receive the wedding rings and hold them up for the couple to

Pastor Dante: The wedding ring is a symbol of marriage in at least three ways; 1.
gold symbolizes the purity of your love for each other; 2. its unending circle
symbolizes the unending vows which you are taking – it has no beginning and no
end which symbolizes the love you have for each other and the love of Jesus for
both of you; the ring also stands for the strength and authority, it seals the
covenant of love which may be broken, honorable in the sight of God only by
death. 3. It also serves as your remembrance as you exchange your vows today.
As a token of your love receive the rings.

Dan Davy: Suzette, wear this ring as a sign of my unconditional love, and as a
promise of my care, responsibility and concern for you without end. I have taken
you for myself as God’s special gift. In the name of the Father and of the Son and
of the Holy Spirit.

Suzette: I accept this ring as a sign of my willingness to live within the circle of
your love, devotion and loyalty; I have taken you for myself, as God’s special gift.
Suzette: I give you this ring as a pledge of my faithfulness and as a promise of
my eternal love for you. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy
Spirit.

Pastor Dante: Just as our lives should be founded on the Word of God, the Bible
also serves as manual for marriage.

Pastor Dante: The foundation of every marriage should be based on Jesus, the
Living Word.

Pastor Dante: These coins symbolize God’s loving concern for your physical well-
being. It should remind you both that every good and perfect gift comes from God.
Your material possessions are a trust from God and I should remind you that you
are stewards of God and to use His blessings according to his will.

Dan Davy and Suzette: We hold these coins as a pledge of our dedication to
God the source of all blessings of life. We promise to be a good steward of his
blessings upon us and to use these according to His will.

Pastor Dante: The white veil symbolizes the blessing of both husband and wife.
May your hearts continue to remain pure from this moment on.

Pastor Dante: It also symbolizes God’s care and protection over you as the veil is
placed across your shoulders.

Pastor Dante: The three-stranded cord represents the unity of the triune God –
Father, Son and Holy Spirit. It also symbolizes your continuous unity together as
husband and wife, whose love is bound by God’s cord, which cannot be broken.

Pastor Dante: Dear Father, look with favor upon Dan Davy and Suzette, whom
You make one in Holy matrimony. Give them wisdom and devotion in ordering
their common life, that each may be to the other the strength in need and a
companion in joy. Grant that their wills may be so knit together in Your will and
their spirits in Your Holy Spirit that they may grow in love and peace and each
other all the days of their life. Give them grace when they hurt each other, to
recognize and acknowledge their fault and to seek each other’s forgiveness and
Yours. Make their life together as a sign of Jesus Christ’s love to this sinful and
broken world, that unity may overcome estrangement, forgiveness, heal guilt and
joy conquer despair. Give them such fulfillment of their mutual affection that they
may reach out in love and concern for others. Grant that all married persons who
have witnessed these vows may find their lives strengthened and their loyalties
confirmed. Grant that Your will may be done on earth as it is in Heaven, where
You, oh Father, with Your Son and Holy Spirit live and reign together, now and
forever, Amen.

Pastor Dante: This candles represents the lives of Dan Davy and Suzette in
the light of the Lord Jesus Christ.

s.) The Sharing of Light (Unity Candle) by The Couple

Pastor Dante: It was Jesus who brought Dan Davy and Suzette to the light and
it is His light that shines through their lives that kept their love aflame for Him and
for each other. Today, as they light the unity candle, may this light shine in their
lives as a couple and share it to the people around them that God may be
glorified. And may this marriage serve as a Christian example of a life that is
blessed with the true love, peace and joy that only comes as a fruit of having
Jesus Christ in their home.

As these individual vessels of sand are poured together, they are no longer
distinctly their own. They become instead a beautiful tapestry of extraordinary
design. Each enhanced by the other to form something more than the sum of their
individual parts. Your lives will be the same, becoming one and yet each displaying
your own extraordinary gifts in the unity of your spirits. Together you become
more exquisite than you could be as separate entities. Beginning today, your
tapestry begins to be intertwined with God at the center of it.

Pastor Dante: Since Dan Davy and Suzette have made these commitments
before God and before these witnesses, I, by the authority vested in me by the
Republic of the Philippines and as a minister of the Phils. General Council of the
Assemblies, I Rev. Pastor Dante Portes pronounce them husband and wife, and
we join with their faith venture in God in their marriage and pray for more fruitful
years together, in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

v.) The Benediction

Pastor Dante: God, the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit, bless you,
preserve you and keep you, the Lord mercifully with His favor look upon you and
fill you with all-spiritual benediction and grace.

And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and
minds in the knowledge of the love of God, and the blessing of the Almighty
Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit will be with you. And God’s people said, Amen.
