System in ON status

Starter key in starting lock, pin S1 feeds a signal to control unit A28B, pin X2:2 to close the power relay. This
occurs only if both switches S38 and S39 are closed.

Note: When the starter key is inserted in the starting lock, it must be turned to the radio position or be pressed in, in order for the
signal to be sent to the main switch.

Note: If the key is turned to the radio position and then back to the stop position the system will be on until the key is removed from
the starter switch (there is a 20 minute shut-off delay).

The relay then closes and supplies power to the main fuses (the power to the starter motor is however
unfused).

When the ignition key is turned to the radio position, relay K20 is activated. This is necessary for the
generator to start charging.

Normal shut down (starter key removed from starting lock)

When the starter key is turned from the driving position to the radio position/0, relay K20 is deactivated. 20
minutes after the starter key is removed from the starting lock, the main switch deactivates.

If any of the functions; parking heater, ECS, hazard flashers or parking lights are active, the main power will
not be deactivated until after they are turned off. (Effects input X1:2 via component V02 on the main switch
A28B).

Emergency shut down/vehicle power down

In order to quickly remove power from the vehicle, a shut down can be performed with one of the
ADR-switches S38 in the cab or S39 on the rear cab panel.

Relay K20 is deactivated to position 87A for 1-2 seconds, causing D+ to be grounded and the alternator to
stop charging. All power is then shut down except to the tachograph.

Disabling the timer function

For vehicles equipped with e.g. refrigeration, it is not suitable for the main power to be lost 20 minutes after
the starter key is removed from the starting lock. This function can be disabled by bridging the signal from the
starting lock in the connector block (PW:3 and PW:4). The bridging is done at the cab feed-through.

Note: The links at S38 and S39 must be left in place.

Check the function of S38 and S39 after bridging.
