Assignment Part 1 :

The term homeostasis refers to the ability of the body to maintain a stable internal
environment despite changes in external conditions.
As a science teacher, you find that many students are confused by the concept of homeostasis.
Explain the concept of normal condition, osmoregulation, corrective mechanism and negative
feedback in homeostasis to overcome students’ confusion.
 Read chapter 5 of Module especially section 5.4 on Osmoregulation and homeostatis

 Explain the concept simply and clearly with diagrams and graphics according to the
RUBRIC. Check what the rubric wants and write according to it

Assignment Part 2:
Do a comprehensive lesson plan that would involve a simple experiment to enhance students’
understanding on osmoregulation. Graphics should be used to help explain what is expected of
the students in this lesson.
All references used in this assignment should be cited correctly using the APA format.
 Read up on the type of lesson plans you want to use.
 o Needham 5 phase or 5E or POE (predict, observe, explain)
 Surf the net to find samples of lesson plans especially on homeoststis
 Write a full lesson plan for 2 periods of lesson incoporating an experiment.
