IF Condition Practical – Nested If Calculating Bonus and Allowances

i) To Computer Bonus at 40% of the salary up to Rs.20000/-


otherwise at 50% of the salary in column E
Answer: Click on Cell E2
Type The Formula =IF(D2<20000,D2*40%,D2*50%) Press Enter
Drag to Fill E2 to E10

ii) To Find the allowance at 15% of the salary for salary above
Rs.25000/- Otherwise at 10% of the salary in column F
Answer: Click on Cell F1 and type Heading as Allowance
Now click on Cell F2 & Type the formula
=IF(D2>25000,D2*15%,D2*10%) Press Enter
Drag to fill F2 to F10

iii) To find the average of Salary of only the purchase Department

I) Find the total expenses in each month in the cells B6, C6

A company makes three product bats, racquets and footballs whose sale price is
Rs.300, Rs.200 and 150 respectively. For the company to break even, it has to
achieve a total sale of Rs.500000/- in a year. Using Solver, find out the number of
units of each of these three product that should be sold in order to meet the
desired target sale.

Answer:
1) Type the heading From A1 to D1 (Product, Rate, Quantity, Total)

2) Enter Product Names From A2 To A4 (Bats, Racquets, Football)

3) Enter the Product Rates from B2 to B4 (300,200,150)

4) Enter the Quantity 0 in C2 To C4

5) Click on D2  Type formula  = B2*C2 Press Enter and Drag up to D4

6) Click on Cell D5 and type formula =SUM(D2:D4) Press Enter

7) On Click on File Menu options Add-ins Solver  ok
