I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
1. Recognize the basic ingredients used in preparing chiffon cake
2. Demonstrate the proper way of making a chiffon cake
3. Appreciate and value the ideas express in baking

II. SUBJECT MATTER


A. Topic: Baking Sponge Cake
B. References: Tesda Online Program
C. Instructional Materials: Laptop, projector, 1 cup cake flour, plus more for coating the
pan. 1 teaspoon baking powder, 1/4 teaspoon fine salt.,1/4 cup vegetable oil.2
tablespoons water 1 teaspoon vanilla extract,3 large eggs, whites and yolks separated

III. PROCEDURE
A. Motivation
1. Presenting a baked cakes to the students and allowing them to taste and give their
evaluation .
B. Presentation
1. What is a chiffon type of cake
2. Let’s see if you can figure out what the basic ingredient in making a “Chiffon cake”
C. Demonstration
1. Preheat the oven to 325 F.
2. Combine the flour, salt, sugar and baking powder in a large bowl. ...
3. In another bowl, beat the egg whites with the cream of tartar. ...
4. Gently fold the eggs into the first mix. ...
5. Put batter into ungreased cake shape. ...
6. Put in oven for about 1 hour. ...

E. Generalization
1.The A chiffon cake is a very light cake made with vegetable
oil, eggs, sugar, flour, baking powder, and flavorings. It is a combination of both batter
and foam type (sponge type) cakes
2. Flour, butter, salt, vegetable oil, sugar, egg, cream of tartar water, vanilla extract and
baking soda are the basic ingredients of chiffon cake
