 Think of a project at your organization and write about it in 5-10 lines.

 The Organization in which I am working is a project management consultancy firm. A


project named “Vana Malsi Estates” is managed and monitoring by our
organization. The owner of the project is “Vana Retreats” (Groups of Company of
MAX GROUP).This Project is setup in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. Dehradun is Capital of
Uttarakhand state. This is a wellness retreat that explores each aspect of wellbeing:
physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.
At Vana, each guest is seen as an individual entity and an opportunity to serve and
enhance wellbeing, through wellness.It situated in 21-acres estates.
In this project Vana Retreats hire our organization Currie & Brown for project
managing, planning & monitoring. A Team of 8 engineers is appointed at site for Site
execution supervision, planning, Billing & Quantity surveying and quality control.
I am appointed as a Quantity Surveyor cum billing engineer for preparing of project
pre- estimated boq, checking of contractor bills and cost control at site.

 Why is this task a project and not part of regular operations.

 This a Project which have a temporary endeavour with proper respect of project
.Due to following cause its different from a regular operation process:-

 In this Project the whole arrangement (labour, material, staff) is a temporary


endeavour, the final constructed property is unique product or service
 This project begun on 1st week of Jun 2013 and its completion date is 10th Jan 2015.
So this project indicates a definite beginning and end date, which is a part of project.
 The construction work of this property is not a repetitive work because repetitive
activities are the part of Operations.
 The completion of construction work of the project is produce a result and result
setup a platform for operation work.
 And this project have all five process- Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring &
controlling and Closing.
So as per above mentioned causes, this task is a project and not part of regular
operations.

 Define the start date and tentative end date of the project.
 This Project was started on 7th Jun 2013. Starting with site execution this project is
running and now till the present it almost complete about more than 80%. Its end
date was planned on 10th Jan 2015 but it will be complete before its estimated time
line.
 Identify the traits of a Project Manager for this particular project.
 A Project Manager is a key figure of any Service Team. They will be primarily
responsible for the overall successfulness of delivering a project, reaching set targets
both safely and correctly.

Responsibilities
• Plan the delivery of the project at hand.
• Manage the day-to-day working, utilization, implementation and technical
consultants engaged on client assignments. From ensuring the correct material turns
up before a job, to explaining the work ethics and activities to colleagues.

• Report progress on projects by suitable media to sector management, maintain


and update project reporting, checkpoints and financial reporting to a high standard.

• Plan and arrange visits to existing and new potential clients, ensuring every client
receives sufficient support to enhance their relationships.

• Develop contacts with senior staff, directors, and other influential staff within each
account during the implementation phase.

• Co-ordinate required support levels and training.

• Produce reports on each project at agreed intervals, and whenever substantive


actions are required.
