What?: Central College announces the grand opening of its new education building; the James
L. Smith Center for Education. The opening ceremony is set for noon on March 6, 2018. This
project has been one in the works and under construction for a year on campus so the
excitement is starting to reach its brink.

Where?: 1328 University Blvd, NW DC 20001 at the James L. Smith Center for Education on the
campus of Central College

When?: March 6, 2018, 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Pacific Time

Who?: Central College, a private, non-denominational, liberal arts college founded in 1902 in
the District of Columbia, to provide quality and higher education. Central College is best known
for its effective business administration, marketing, English and mathematics departments. The
college is committed to outreach and engagement and has worked to build lasting relationships
with our surrounding communities. Our alumni include generations of students whom are the
districts most prominent business and civic leaders. Our duty is to both challenge and
encourage our students by expanding our networks, through this we open doors for mutually
beneficial relationships.

Why?: With the growing partnership with the District of Columbia Education Fund and
partnerships with high school programs, it is important that we have one united destination on
campus with up to date technology and devices for the students to access. The students who
attend this university should have up to date technology for their personal use and growth as
well.

How?: As a university seeking to expand our professionalism, reputation, and environment for
our students we received funding from multiple sources. Some of the larger organizations such
as Pepsi gave us a grant that we could use specifically to help advance our technology for our
students and visitors on campus.
