Global Politics: Human Rights and Justice| Johns Hopkins Center for Talented
Youth

Intensive 4-week course about the decision-making processes states face when balancing
sovereign interests against moral duties, especially as they pertain to human rights and
distributive economic justice. Presented on the issue of youth rights, and proposed a similar-
systems design study via a causal theory essay on democratization.
Law and Politics in U.S. History | Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth
JUL 2017 – AUG 2017
An intensive 4-week summer course in the role of law and politics in U.S. history with a focus on
landmark Supreme Court cases. Developed skills in writing legal briefs and tested cumulative
knowledge in a mock trial.
International Politics | Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth
JUL 2016 – AUG 2016
An intensive 4-week summer course covering a college level introduction to international politics.
Developed analysis skills through written analysis of global conflict and application of political
theory. Participated in simulations of different issues playing the role of an assigned country to
test knowledge obtained throughout the course.

JUN 2018 – AUG 2018
Helped reply to constituent concerns. Corresponded with department heads and attended
meetings for the implementation of Limited English Proficiency policy. Provided student
perspective and recommendations on county inclusion and diversity initiative, #OneHoward, in
addition to attending steering committee meetings. 12 hrs/week.

assisting the community via volunteer activities.

Teacher-nominated student leader. Served on committee for One Centennial, a student-led day
of workshops and speeches to encourage inclusivity and community development. Led a
workshop on advocacy and girls' rights.
Junior Coach | Girls on the Run

Attended weekly practices and ran with the girls at the end of season 5k. Helped lead activities
that encouraged the girls by building empowerment, self-affirmation, and self-confidence, and
assisted with a service activity that involved hosting a drive for the local animal shelter. 4
hrs/week.
Violin Mentor | Music Mentors
NOV 2017 – PRESENT
Tutor middle school students who do not have private teachers at Burleigh Manor Middle School
for an hour. Work with them individually to develop their skills with the violin. 1 hr biweekly.
Team Member | Mission Team to Haiti
APR 2017 – JUN 2017
Missions outreach in the capital city of Haiti in partnership with the World Orphans program.
Included running a medical clinic, teaching ESL lessons, counseling, and leading VBS for children
at various churches and orphanages.

Mock Trial
OCT 2017 – PRESENT
Currently a member of the competing team as a defense attorney, has previously competed as a
witness. The team competes in the Maryland State Bar Association High School Mock Trial
Competition and was the first Howard County team to make it to state championships in 2018.
Empire Mock Trial
AUG 2018 – SEPT 2018
Empire Mock Trial is an international mock trial competition. Competed in Atlanta with
Centennial High School's team, one of two teams from Maryland, as a lawyer for the prosecution.
Volunteered in Atlanta as part of the program with Safehouse Outreach.

Music honor society. Volunteering in the community to help facilitate music related events and
encouraging music education.
Howard County High School G/T Orchestra

Gifted and talented orchestra. Served as concertmaster for the past concert cycle.

The United Nations Foundation's adolescent girl campaign that engages girls to take action.
Organize leadership events, volunteer and coordinate community service events to fundraise and
