BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE HALLOWEEN HISTORY

HALLOWEEN is a festival where the Celts of


Ireland and Great Britain announced the end of
summer and the arrival of the "New Year". The
participants used masks and made bonfires to scare
away evil spirits.

The party arrived in America with the trips of


Christopher Columbus and the Irish immigrants. They
took their old traditions to the United States and
Canada, They also brought their custom of carving
giant pumpkins and putting candles inside.

The first Halloween parade was held in Minnesota in


1921. The Cinema and television made the festival so
popular that it was broadcasted in many countries in
the world.

Currently, Halloween (whose meaning is "Eve of All


Saints") is celebrated on the night of October 31,
mainly in the countries of (United States, Canada,
United Kingdom, Ireland). And every time it has more
presence in Latin American countries (Mexico,
Colombia, Peru, Argentina and Chile).
