If the result is not as specified, replace the oil control valve assembly. If the valve cannot return
properly because of foreign matter, a small pressure leak in the advanced direction may occur and a
DTC may be stored.

1. INSTALL CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY (for Exhaust Side)
a. Apply a light coat of engine oil to a new O-ring, and install it to the oil control valve.
NOTE: Do not allow foreign matter to contact the oil seal face of the oil
control valve (connecting surface with cylinder head cover).
Be careful that the O-ring is not cracked or moved out of place
when installing the oil control valve.

b. Disconnect the No. 2 water by-pass hose from the throttle body.
c. Disconnect the fuel tube from the clamp.
d. Disconnect the throttle position sensor and control motor connector.
e. Remove the 4 bolts and the throttle body with fuel tube bracket.

b. Check that the there is no sludge accumulating around the throttle body.
c. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

c. Install the throttle body (with the fuel tube bracket) with the 4 bolts.
6. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Disconnect the EFI fuse and ETCS fuse at the same time. Wait at least 60 seconds and reconnect
the fuses.
b. Turn the ignition switch to ON without operating the accelerator pedal.
NOTE: If the accelerator pedal is operated, perform the above steps again.
c. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3 and clear the DTCs.Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
d. Start the engine and check that the MIL is not illuminated. After the engine is warmed up, check
that the idle speed is within the specified range when the A/C is switched off.

REMOVAL
1. PRECAUTION
NOTE: After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before
disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to
read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before
proceeding with work.Refer to PRECAUTION .
WARNING: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the
negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
h. Detach the 2 hook clamps, and then remove the air cleaner cap.
i. Remove the air cleaner filter element from the air cleaner case.
4. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE
a. Disconnect the harness clamp.
NOTE: After disconnecting the connector, make sure that dirt, water and
other foreign matter does not contact the connector.
1. Raise the 2 levers while pushing the locks on the 2 levers, and disconnect the 2 ECM
connectors.
c. Remove the ECM with bracket.
d. Remove the 4 screws and 2 ECM brackets.

1. INSTALL ECM
a. Install the 2 brackets to the ECM with the 4 screws.
NOTE: When connecting the connector, make sure that dirt, water and
other foreign matter is not stuck between the connector and
ECM.
Make sure that the 2 levers are securely lowered.
c. Insert the hinge part of the air cleaner cap into the air cleaner case, then attach the 2 hook clamps.
