INGAPORE ITINERARY AND MALAYSIA SIDE TRIP EXPENSE

DAY 1 : MERLION PARK, MARINA SANDS AND GARDEN BY
THE BAY
Singapore’s national icon, Merlion is a half lion and half fish mythical creature. Its Fish body symbolizes the
humble beginnings of the country from a fishing village and the lion head symbolizes its original name
“Singapura”, a malay word for “lion city”. We did not have a hard time locating the place, since most of
the tourist are also heading towards the park from MRT station.
How to get there: MRT: Raffles Place Station, exit H
Marina bay Sands Singapore is just across the Merlion Park, you can either walk or rent a bike going here.
Aside from being a luxury hotel, it also houses the largest collection of designer boutique in Asia. Aside from
luxurious things, this 55 storey towers also have an observation deck that offers a 360 degree view of
Singapore city, definitely one of the best place to enjoy sunset.

Gardens by the bay is a 101 hectares of reclaimed land located just next Marina reservoir. There are 3 main
attraction in the area: 1) The Super Tress, which is a 9 to 16 feet tall vertical garden and has a
choreographed lights and sounds at night, 2) The flower dome that have more than 32,000 plants
comprising 160 species 3) The cloud forest, home of the largest indoor water fall, its cloud mountain is
covered by orchids, ferns and bromeliads.
This attraction really made us wonder and reflect the importance of nature to us.
Cloud forest
Admission Fee: 899 php

We purchase our discounted ticket in advance for Flower dome and Cloud forest via klook -> Gardens by
the bay ticket

For those who want to avail the discounted ticket with OCBC skyway you may purchase here –> Gardens
by the bay with OCBC ticket
Admission time: 9 A.M. to 9 P.M. (last admission for the conservatories is around 8 P.M. make sure to
manage your time)

DAY 2 : UNIVERSAL STUDIOS SINGAPORE AND CHINA TOWN

Universal Studios Singapore is the 1st Southeast Asia’s Hollywood movie theme park. The theme park has a
total of 24 attractions, these are divided into 7 movie theme zones. For those who are thrill seekers, we
recommend to try these 3 rides: Battlestar Galactica: (1)Human vs (2)Cyclone and (3)Revenge of the
Mummy.

Tip: Budget your time, always check the queue time board
How to get there:

1. MRT: Alight to Harbourfront and Enter VivoCity Mall

2. Go to level 3 of VivoCity mall
3. Board the Sentosa Express and alight to WaterFront Station (use EZ link card)
4. Just follow the signage towards Universal Studios Singapore

Admission fee: 2,814 Php. we book our ticket at a discounted price here -> Universal Studios Singapore
Admission Time: 10:A.M. to 07:00 P.M.

Singapore’s China Town

Right after enjoying the rides in Universal Studios, we immediately go to Singapore’s China Town to witness
their celebration of Chinese New Year. China town is known for ethnic place place of worship like the old
Hokkien temple Thian Hock Keng, Sri Mariamman Hindu Temple and James Mosque. This is also one of the
best place to eat if you are in a budget, since there are a lot of hawkers in the area that offer a very
affordable price.
How to get there: MRT : China town Station
For those who want to know more about the area, we strongly suggest to avail a Singapore City Tour, it is a
2 day pass that involves a guided tour for China town and Little India (China town and little India tour would
cost you around 900 Php each if you purchase it separately)

DAY 3 : BUGIS AND LITTLE INDIA

Bugis It’s time to buy pasalubong. Bugis street is well known for being one of the biggest shopping area in
Singapore and for its cheap prices. This place will also test your bargaining skills, note that some of the store
owners here already know us (Filipino), I remember one even said “tatlo isan daan nalang” and “pwede

tawad”
How to get there: Bugis Station – few meters away from the MRT station you can see the Bugis Street Market

Singapore’s Little India

Little India is not really part of our Itinerary, but since we still have a lot of time and the place is just nearby
our Hostel we decided to explore and check out what can we find here. We follow the advise of our hostel
staff to check first Mustafa and we got shock with the cheap imported goods they offer. Perfumes, jewelries,
watches, gadgets name it, you can find them all here and what surprises us more is that they even offer tax
refund for foreign travelers like us.

DAY 4 : PETRONAS TOWER MALAYSIA

Singapore is just nearby Malaysia, in fact you can cross country via land travel, either bus or train. Since we
have only extra hours before going back manila from Malaysia, we make sure we visit the the petronas.

When we are planing our itinerary, we are really hesitant if we will take a bus going to Malaysia or
not. Taking a bus is the cheapest among our 3 options (Bus, Train, Airplane) but the travel time will be longer.
Airfare from Singapore to Malaysia cost us around P1,400+, (we booked it weeks before our flight via
skyscanner) compared to bus that cost around P700-P1000. Travel time via plane is just 1.5 hours, unlike bus
that will take you at least 8 hours but cost almost the same.
Going to Petronas Tower
From Kuala Lumpur International Airport, there are 3 options (Train, Taxi or Bus.) you can choose from in
going to Petronas Tower
Taxi (Grab) is definitely the most convenient way and we suggest it for those who are traveling in a group.

If you are going to choose to ride a Train or a Bus. You need to go first to KL Sentral and then ride another
train going to KLCC (Kuala Lumpur Concvention Center)

Kuala Lumpur International Airport → KL Sentral → Kuala Lumpur Convention Center

We choose to ride the most economical option, which is taking a Bus going to KL sentral and then boarding
a train going to KLCC. It took us around 1 and a half hour of travel time.

Disclosure: If you purchase anything through the affiliated links, we will receive a small amount through
commission. Don’t worry It won’t cost you extra charges. We really appreciate your support as this will help
us to make more travels. Thank you
