Narrative Report: Part I

Accountancy Week Celebration
July 24, 2015

On July 24, 2015, the BSA Department celebrated their Accountancy Week. This is a time where
all BSA students get together and bond through various activities. It serves as a rest day and a release
from all their busy schedules. The program formally started at 5:30 AM where the BSA students danced
to Zumba inside the covered court that was led by some of our 2nd year students. It was basically a
workout session so that they could work some sweat and be prepared for all the coming activities that
will soon follow. The Zumba lasted 1 hour and the students were given another hour to rest for the next
activity: The Amazing Race. The 1st year and 2nd year students were separately grouped into teams while
the 4th year students already served as a single team. Since the 3rd year students were handling the
activity, they are the ones to give challenges and set up stations in different parts of the school. The
challenges were a mix of brains and brawn. Some requires focus, analyzing and basic common sense,
while others require strategy, endurance and physical strength. After receiving their clues, all groups
were very competitive to be the first to finish all 8 challenges. Based on the documentation our lead
videographers shot, the BSA students had fun and were really into the rush of the game. Some had
leaders to guide them through while others rely on team effort. Overall, we accomplished the main
purpose of the activity: the bonding of all BSA students. The red team won the race, which was a mix of
1st year and 2nd year students. After the race, all students were given a moment to rest and the 3rd year
students prepared for the next activity, the boodle fight. All levels were assigned to bring something for
this. Since the 1st year students hold the most number of people, they were assigned to bring the main
dish or ulam. The 2nd year students were assigned to bring rice and banana leaves, the 3rd year students
brought drinks and cups and the 4th year students brought fruits. The boodle fight started at exactly 12
noon. Everyone finished with full stomachs that day and was once again given an hour to rest for the
next activity.

The activities for the afternoon are composed of the Search for Mr. and Ms. BSA 2015 and the
JPIA’s Got Talent 2015 that will be done inside the Hermana Fausta Hall. The two activities were both
merged together so it all went down with The Search for Mr. and Ms. BSA simultaneously coinciding
with the JPIA’s Got Talent. The theme for the year is “Harnessing the Elements Within”. The judges for
both contests were Mr. Eduard Mancilla, Mr. Harby Nanad and Ms. Genese Chua. The Search for Mr.
and Ms. BSA 2015 was composed of contestants taken from various year levels. They were required to
wear attire such as sports, uniform and creative attire that will be judged by this year’s judges. They
were also required to showcase their talents by pair and like all pageants, be prepared for a question
and answer portion. The JPIA’s Got Talent has two categories: the singing category and the dancing
category. The singing category requires all year levels to have 2 contestants to sing a duet while the
dancing category does not have such limits. In whole, the two contests were a complete success and not
only the BSA students but also, various courses joined in in our festivities. The cheer of the people went
on for miles, betting their favorite contestants. The champions of the singing and dancing competition
both came from the 1st year levels in BSA 1B. Truly, their performances were phenomenal and once
again proved that the BSA students are not only known for their exceptional grades but also, are also
talented individually. The Search for Mr. and Ms. BSA was also a riot. All of the contestants are quite
competitive and made such great efforts to win the competition. The main show was when the creative

attire finally came and the contestants went out with such beautiful and creative costume all
representing the four elements: earth, water, fire and air. This was soon followed by the Q & A portion
and the students were highly impressive answering each question thrown at them. In the end, once
again, students from BSA 1B both bagged both crowns and won the pageant. As written in the
guidelines, they will represent the BSA course in Mr. and Ms. Cordian this coming 2016. Indeed, the day
was a series of successes and went on and became one of the most memorable events of the BSA. After
all recognition was given, the day was finally ended with a closing prayer and everyone cleaned up and
got prepared for tomorrow’s next event: The CPA Testimonial Party.
