This book does a great job of starting by explaining that words and numbers are similar.
Just because a word has the same three letters, the order determines what we read, just
like with the order of numbers. Then the book dives into explaining place value by
comparing multiple numbers that have the same digits in different orders while giving a
visual representation for each. Then it also explains decimals by using dollar bills, dimes,
and pennies for the different places. While this could be a little above younger students

Base Ten number system and where it came from which gives good background knowledge to
students. I think it is important for kids to know why we do things a certain way not just
how to do it which this book covers nicely. The book is engaging while covering very rich
math content because it uses monkeys on each page who are baking to demonstrate
different steps in their recipe that relate back to the story. This would be a great book to
read to students of any grade level because it would be a great refresher book for older
students.
This book does a great job at showing the varying meanings of equal as well as how
