APPLICATIONS OF COOLING TOWER

The cooling tower system is common in many industries, chief among them
being power, commercial, HVAC and industrial. In the industrial setup, the
system rejects heat from machinery, heated process material among other
sources. Specifically, industrial cooling towers are common in food processing
plants, petroleum refineries, natural gas plants and petrochemical plants.
Other industrial applications:
 cooled air compressors
 Water Plastic Injection & Blow Moulding Machine
 Die casting machine
 Refrigeration and chilling plant
 Cold storage
 Anodizing processes plant
 Electrical power generation plant
 Water cooled air conditioning systems and VAM machines

APPLICATIONS OF BOILER

There are several reasons or applications of steam boilers in industry as follows

 The steam generated by steam boilers is used for driving various types of
steam turbines which further drives various types of pumps compressors
generators etc.

 Steam generated by boiler is used in the process of a chemical plant .it has
various uses like heating or for various chemical reactions where steam is
used as feed.

APPLICATIONS OF DRYER

Drying is also often the largest energy consuming process, and the process
needs to be understood effectively to rationalize energy needs. It is important
to understand the drying techniques and technologies to reduce spoilage and
enhance the quality of the product.
 Food Industry
 Pharmaceutical Industry
 Engineering and Mechanical Industry
 Leather
 Aviation Industry/Air Ports

APPLICATIONS OF DISTILLATION PROCESS

 Distillation of fermented products produces distilled beverages with high

alcohol content or separates out other fermentation products of
commercial value.

 Distillation is an effective and traditional method of desalination.

 In the fossil fuel industry, oil stabilization is a form of partial distillation that
reduces vapour pressure of crude oil, thereby making it safe for storage and
transport as well as reducing the atmospheric emissions of volatile
hydrocarbons. In midstream operations at oil refineries, distillation is a
major class of operation for transforming crude oil into fuels and chemical
feed stocks.

 Cryogenic distillation leads to the separation of air into its components –

notably oxygen, nitrogen, and argon – for industrial use.

 In the field of industrial chemistry, large amounts of crude liquid products

of chemical synthesis are distilled to separate them, either from other
products, from impurities, or from unreacted starting materials.
