RULES IN RACE WALKING
There are two basic rules in Race Walking:
1. Contact: The athlete must never have both feet
off the ground at once. One foot MUST appear
to be in contact with the ground at all times
2. Knees: The advancing leg must be straightened
(not bent at the knee) from when the foot first
makes contact with the ground until the vertical
upright position.
WATER HUSTLE – Persons are seated and a cup
of water is placed on their foreheads by a teammate.
On the whistle, athlete rises and transports the water
to the finish line. Use of hands is strictly prohibited.
First to reach with water…
PLUS SIZE – For athletes within a certain weight
range. Dependent on Faculties ability to field such
persons.
BALL BETWEEN LEGS RELAY – Athletes will
kneel on the ground and a ball is placed between
their knees. On the whistle the rise and race to pass
the ball to their teammate. Use of hands strictly
prohibited!
