Educating all students is an important goal of effective teachers. Using a variety of teaching
strategies and methods that will address all learning styles ensures all students will enhance
their understanding of new material. The better we know our student’s areas of strengths in
learning the more effective we can become in facilitating classroom-learning opportunities. It
is also important for us to be aware of our own learning preferences. Understanding our
preferred styles of learning or intelligences allows us to utilize our strengths while challenging
ourselves to explore other styles of learning.
For all questions, answer in COMPLETE SENTENCES. Each answer is worth 20 points.

1
Learning Styles & Multiple Intelligence Profile Assignment.9.18
Why or why not? Please explain and give an example of EACH of these three strengths
(same or different than survey) from your daily life experiences.
Active, Sensing, and Visual
2. READ the handout, Learning Styles and Strategies, and look up your 3 learning styles:
For each of your 3 strongest traits, write down what you can do to best help yourself in a
classroom situation that does not favor your learning style. Use the paragraphs, “How can
________ learners help themselves?” to help guide your answer. Provide 2 examples for
each.
Answer the following questions about the survey and its results:
3. After viewing the results of your survey, do you agree with the survey’s assessment of your
Top Three Intelligence Strengths? Why or why not? Provide 2 brief examples from your own
life that demonstrate each of the 3 strengths YOU feel are your Top Intelligences.
I would say I agree. My top was musical which I have been involved in choir since 5th grade. I
also have always enjoyed math ever since I was a kid.
4. Look at the 2 Intelligences that have your weakest scores from the survey. How can you
compensate in these areas that are not your strongest in an educational situation. What could
you do to help yourself learn? (For Example: You are weak in Musical Intelligence, but must
take some type of course in music, how could you handle this?)
My lowest are nature and language, and I have taken 2 years of Spanish and plan on
taking more in college. As for nature I have tried to take care of the eco-system as
much as I can.
5. Reflection: How can you use this information you discovered about your Learning Styles
and Multiple Intelligences to be a better teacher? As the philosopher, Socrates said, “Know
thyself.”
I can use the information I have gained by focusing on strengthening my weaker parts
so I can be all around good
