Towson University Winter Guard

2019 Season Membership Agreement Form

The Director shall have final jurisdiction over the rules and policies stated in this document.

MEMBERSHIP
The TUWG is open to anyone with color guard experience. Members must be between the ages of 17-22.

REHEARSALS
TUWG rehearsals for the 2019 season can be found at

Rehearsals for the spring semester will become available once schedules are finalized. Tentatively practices will be Friday, Saturday,
and Sunday.
ABSENCES
Each member of the TUWG is an important part in our organization and performance. Prompt and regular attendance is; therefore,
assumed for all personnel. Request for all excused rehearsal absences need to be e-mailed to the Director by November 27, 2018.
Supporting documentation should be given to the director whenever possible. A request to be excused from a performance must be
made directly to the Band Director. See below. Acceptable excused absences from rehearsals or performances are
● Religious holidays

● Death in family

● Illness accompanied by a well-documented doctor’s note
ATTENDANCE POLICIES
Attendance will be taken at the beginning of rehearsals.
Members may miss up to 8 hours of rehearsal after the November 27th
deadline. If a second unexcused absence occur, it will result in a conference with the Director to evaluate your commitment to the
TUWG. ALL WINTER PRACTICES AND PERFORMANCES ARE MANDATORY!!!!!!!!

Absences from scheduled performances or pre-performance rehearsals must be requested in writing, directly to the Band and
Color Guard Director, prior to November 27th. Personal communication is encouraged.

MEMBERSHIP FEES

The membership fee for the TUWG 2019 season is $800.00. This amount will go towards the hotel, transportation, and practice
space needed for all KIDA and WGI competitions. Below is the schedule for payment. Please talk to the Director if you want to work
out an alternative payment plan. Along with membership fees, members will participate in every fundraiser. Every member must
have a sale total of $100 per fundraiser. After the member exceeds $100 in profit, the member may use the profit towards their
dues. If member does not have a sale total of $100 for the specific fundraiser; they must make up the difference.
● December 2nd - $100.00 (This will secure your spot for the 2019 season) 

● January 5th - $200.00
● February 1st - $200.00 

● March 8th - $200.00 

● April 3rd - $100.00
CONDUCT 

General conduct of all TUWG members will reflect the highest levels of class, professionalism, and collegiate school spirit at all
functions. This includes rehearsals, performances, travel, and anytime you appear in public as a member of the winter guard.
Respect, support, and encouragement toward every member within the group will be demonstrated. When in uniform,
inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. You represent the TU Winter Guard and Towson University. 

The use or possession of alcoholic beverages or illegal substances by any member prior to or during any TUWG function (including
bus travel to and from performance locations) is strictly forbidden. Violation will result in the student’s immediate dismissal from
the TUWG.
Statement of Acceptance of Terms 


I, __________________________________________________, have read, understand, and accept the rules and


regulations of the Towson University Winter Guard as stated above. I understand that if I do not comply with all rules, regulations
and policies, I am subject to the consequences incurred by my actions. I also understand that if I do not complete my obligations to
the winter guard, no monies will be refunded and possible charges will be incurred for expenses of issued equipment and uniform.
