Summary

Summary

After a vivid study with critical discussion the various findings of the research
work is summarized to obtain the present work at glance.

The title of the thesis is “A clinical study on durdagdha w.s.r to second degree
superficial burn and its management with indigenous drugs.”

The study has been initiated with a detail description about dagdha vrana and
their types from theoretical, practical and clinical point of view in a systemic way with
both ancient and modern light along with conceptual analysis and due references.

45 numbers of patients were selected and registered according to selection criteria.


All the patients were divided into 2 group i.e. trial and control group.

Trial drugs was prepared with due procedure and applied externally. 5 numbers
of patients (3 from control group and 2 from trial group) were dropped out during
research work. So, clinical study was done in 40 numbers of patients.

Periodical improvement among the patients of trial and control group were
compared with before and after treatment. Observations were made by clinical analysis
with the help of statistical methods.

After analysis all the observations are discussed with references to the
effectiveness of the trial drugs. Judicious explanations are placed in support of the
progress.

The clinical result of the indigenous drug as topical application is observed and
found its effectiveness to reduce all the sign and symptoms of dagdha vrana (durdagdha)
and promoting wound healing. The trial drug is effective, favourable as regard to its price,
availability and efficacy. The trial medicine was evaluated as an effective one on the
treatment of dagdha vrana.
