Community Happenings with our Cox Cubs: Did you know that one of the teams of our students who go to Boys and Girls
Club won their club basketball championship and are now moving onto the city championships! Way to Go Cox Cubs! One of
our students, Max Ledwon, is raising money for kids with cancer by shaving his head at the St. Baldrick’s Event on March 9th
in honor of his sister? Way to go Max!!! He’s gotten special permission to color his hair bright green for the event and if
you’d like to donate to his cause at “Team Lindsey” https://www.stbaldricks.org/teams/mypage/122971/2019. The event is
held at New York, New York Hotel at the Nine Fine Irishmen on March 9, 2019 from 11:00-8:00 pm. We’ve got great kids
doing great things in our community. If you’ve got some great things your child(ren) are doing please email me and we can feature
them in our weekly news.

Milers Announcements: Parents, a number of students are being dropped off at the Miler’s time and not attending Milers but
instead playing on the playground. This is not a before school care program. Students cannot be on campus prior to 8:55
am unless they’re participating in Milers. This has been such an increased concern, as there is no supervision for students
until 8:55 am that we are asking Milers to lock the gates back up at 8:45 am.

PAC Meeting Next Week: CCSD Trustees Linda P. Cavazos and Deanna L. Wright would like to invite you to attend a
Community PAC Meeting on Tuesday, March 5, 2019, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the theater at Greenspun Junior High
School, located at 140 N. Valle Verde Drive, Henderson. The topic of discussion will be Education Funding in
Nevada. Hope to see you there!

Curriculum News: Our final order for our math textbook serious Envision 2.0 will be arriving in the next two weeks. By the
end of March our school will have complete textbooks for the math standards and instruction. We’re half way to our textbook
funding…next…Reading Textbook series. We have asked for assistance with funding through the Henderson Education
Grant/Funds and we’ll find out how much they’re funding in May.
Parent News: Parents, for those who donated to our Holiday Mash-up this year your tax donation letters for your 2018 taxes
