Commerce

Proceedings:

1. Meeting started at 11:00 a.m. with the recitation of Holy Quran. Dr. Sania Zahra Malik
(Advisor, QEC) briefed the participants about the purpose of meeting and about the
reviewing of curriculum. She elaborated the vision of Vice Chancellor to bring
university in top most 500 universities in Qs Ranking by providing Quality education.
2. She explained that quality education will be assured through revision and updation of
curriculum as worthy vice chancellor narrated that at least 15% new contents should
be added.
3. She explained the definition of process of reviewing the curriculum which includes
review, evaluate and update the contents, context and methods. For the process of

reviewing curriculum internal members, external academicians and practitioners
should be included.
4. She raised the point that the duplication in curriculum at various levels should be
minimized and well explained with the level of difficulty increased or decreased.
5. She told the participants that formation of Board of Studies is very important and
meetings of Board of Studies should be continuous. Internal meeting of curriculum
review committees are important and should be conducted consistently.
6. She told the participants that course outline and contents should be documented and
there is a need of creating course files and methodology of delivering lectures. Each
lesson should include 5-10 minutes chunks explaining objectives and learning
outcomes of that lesson. Tools of instructions should be mentioned. Trainings and
workshops for faculty should also be arranged consistently.
7. Mrs. Tehreem Siddique (Faculty Member, Hailey College of Banking and Finance) told
that number of students in class is really large. It was suggested that reasonable
student teacher ratio should be followed.
8. Mr. Iftikhar Ahmad (Faculty Member, Hailey College of Banking and Finance) said that
there should be a bridge for minimizing the gap between academia and industry.
Conclusions:
1. Participants of both colleges agreed to regularly update QEC about the progress of
curriculum review at their respective colleges.

Meeting ended with the vote of thanks from Dr. Sania Zahra Malik to all the participants.
