Topic/ Title: Roles of the organs of the digestive system.

Learning Competencies and Objectives:

At the end of the session, student should be able to:


1.. Explain the roles of the organs of the digestive system.
2. Infer what diseases or discomfort one may acquire if there is no
proper care of the digestive organs.

MOTIVATIONAL ACTIVITY MATERIALS

student.
ELICIT (LANGUAGE) MATERIALS
 Show some pictures of different machine. Pictures

 Let the students identify the pictures.


 Ask them, what is common among the pictures?

ENGAGE (LANGUAGE)
 Call 1 representative from each group and ask Printed pictures
them to take one picture from the five folded

 Give one marshmallow to each student and ask
them to chew and eat the marshmallow.
 According to the picture that they have, let them
identify what it particularly does to the
marshmallow.

to elaborate more on the diseases of digestive presentation
system as well as how to prevent and treat
them.

Digestion - is the breakdown of food into small


molecules, which are then absorbed into the
body.

Tongue – the fleshy muscular organ in the
mouth of a mammal, used for tasting, licking,
swallowing
Esophagus – organ in vertebrates through
which food passes
Stomach – is a muscular organ located on the
left side of the upper abdomen
Liver – is a large, meaty organ that sits on the
right side of the belly
Small intestine – is the part of the
gastrointestinal tract between the stomach
and the large intestine
Large intestine – is the last part of the
gastrointestinal tract and of the digestive
system in vertebrates.

 Let the student answer the crossword puzzle per Pen and paper
group.

 Answer the following questions: HOMEWORK


1. What are the different organs of the digestive
system?
2. What are the roles of the organs of the
digestive system to digest the food?
3. As a student, how can you take care your
digestive system?
EXTEND (ICT)
Ask your students to pick a part of the digestive Pen and paper
system. Have them research the structure and
functions of the part. Ask your students to research the
diseases associated to each part of the digestive
system.
