 Good Morning Class!  Good morning Sir!
 Before anything else, Let us stand up and start our  (One student will lead the Prayer)
class with a prayer.
 Last time we discussed about Genetics, since  (answer may vary)
Genetics is came from the word genes. So what is  Genes is usually located on a chromosomes
genes? and that is the functional unit of inheritance
controlling the transmission and expression
of one or more traits.
 Very Good!
 Let’s give a WOW GALING CLAP.  (students will give to her/him a WOW GALING CLAP)

EXPLORE
 Our lesson for today is related to the activity we
had. Since these animals are composed of cell.
These cells carry on many functions needed to
sustain life. They grow and divide, thereby
producing more cells. This is the cell division
 Today, we will be tackling about the process of Cell
Division.

 For you to have an in depth understanding of our

lesson today, we will have an activity. Again, group
yourselves with the same group you have on the
first activity.

 I will be giving each group a brown envelope.

Inside the envelope are the cut-out shape and your
task is to find out what is the mystery image and
give the different terms that is connected to the
shape or diagram that was given to you

 Do the activity for 15 minutes.

 Each group will choose 2 representatives to explain  (students will perform the group activity)
their works
(after 15 minutes…)
EXPLAIN
 For the Group 1, report your findings about Growth  ( Student will Report the G1 Phase )
1 phase/ GAP1 PHASE or G1 Phase, based on what
you have observed in the image/picture that you
arrange?

 The G1 phase is often referred to as the growth

phase, because this the time in which a cell
grow, this period of cell cycle starts from the
end of cell division to the beginning of DNA
replication

 (Student will Report the Synthesis phase)

 For the Group 2, report your findings about
Synthesis base on what you have in your activity

 The Period of Cell Cycle during DNA

replication takes place, the cell will continue to
grow and produce new proteins.

 For the Group 3, report your findings about  (Student will Report the G2 Phase )
Growth 2 phase/ GAP2 PHASE or G2 Phase, based
on what you have observed in your activity

 The G2 or Gap 2 Phase, is the second subphase

of interphase in the cell cycle directly
preceding mitosis. It takes only 4 hours before
to proceed in M Phase.

 For the Group 4, report your findings about Mitosis

Phase or Mitotic Phase or the M Phase, based on  (Student will Report the M Phase)
what you have observed in your activity

 The final stage of Cell Cycle during in which

cell division takes place. The division of
mother cell into 2 daughter cells genetically
identical to each other.
 Since our topic for today is focused on cell cycle,  According to what I have read and my observations
who can give an idea of what Interphase is? Ok, too, interphase is the phase of the cell cycle in which a
Ms./Mr.(Student) what is your idea about typical cell spends most of its life where during in this
Interphase? phase, the cell copies its DNA in preparation for
Mitosis.
 Very good explanation!  (students will give to her/him a WOW GALING CLAP)
 Let’s give HIM/ HER (student name) ALING
DIONISYA GALING CLAP.
 For elaboration, cell cycle is the series of events
that takes place in a cell leading to duplication of its
DNA and Division of cytoplasm and organelles to
produce two daughter cells.

 So, based on our activity we had, what are the  (student 1) G1 phase
phases in Cell Cycle? Yes, Ms./Mr. (Student)  (student 2) S phase
 (student 3) G2 phase
 (student 4) M phase

 Look at the first stage of cell cycle or interphase  (students answer in chorus) G1 Phase.
which is the?

 Ok, Ms./Mr. (Student), based on the activity we

had, what is happening inside this phase?  Sir. Emil as what I have observed, G1 phase is often
referred to as the growth phase, because this is the
time in which a cell grows. During this phase, the cell
synthesizes various enzymes and nutrients that are
needed later on for DNA replication and cell division.
The duration of the G1 phase is variable and it often
depends on the nutrients that are available to a cell.
The G1 phase is also when cells produce the most
proteins.

 Very Good!  (students will clap)

 So what is DNA replication?

 Ok, Ms./Mr. (Student)  Sir, DNA replication is a vital aspect of a cell's

proliferation. Without replicating its DNA, a cell cannot
divide and share its genetic information to progeny.

 Very Good!

 Let’s proceed to the second stage which is the?  (all students) S phase

 Ok, Ms./Mr. (Student), based on the activity we  Sir. Emil as what I have observed, the S Phase is
had, what is happening inside this phase? producing two similar daughter cells, and the complete
DNA instructions in the cell must be duplicated. DNA
replication occurs during this S (synthesis) phase. Gap
2 (G2): During the gap between DNA synthesis and
mitosis, the cell will continue to grow and produce new
proteins. When the cell has reached an appropriate size
and is in a supportive environment for DNA replication,
it will exit either G1 or G0 and enter the next phase of
interphase called S phase. S phase, or synthesis, is the
phase of the cell cycle when DNA packaged into
chromosomes is replicated.
 Ok. Excellent! Ms./Mr.(Student).  (students will clap)

 So, what is chromosomes?  Chromosomes is the part of a cell that contains the
genes which control how an animal or plant grows and
 Very good! what it becomes.

 Let’s proceed to the third stage which is the?  (all students) G2 Phase

Sir. Emil as what I have observed. During the gap

 Ok, Ms./Mr. (Student), based on the activity we between DNA synthesis and mitosis, the cell will
had, what is happening inside this phase? continue to grow and produce new proteins. At the end
of this gap is another control checkpoint (G2
Checkpoint) to determine if the cell can now proceed to
enter M (mitosis) and divide and where in G2 phase, is
the second sub-phase of Interphase in the cell cycle
directly preceding mitosis. It follows the successful
completion of S phase, during which the cell's DNA is
replicated.
 (all students will clap)
 Very Good!
 (all students)Mitotic Phase or M phase
 Finally, let’s proceed to the fourth stage, which is
the?

 What did you observe in the illustration?

 Ok, Ms./Mr. (Student), based on the activity we  Sir, Emil as what I observed in the Activity, Mitosis
had, what is happening inside this phase? takes place in four stages: prophase (sometimes
divided into early prophase and prometaphase),
metaphase, anaphase, and telophase. You can learn
more about these stages in the video on mitosis. In
cytokinesis, the cytoplasm of the cell is split in two,
making two new cells.
 Ok, Very Good! (clap)  (all students) CLAP.

 So what are the phases of Mitosis?  (all students)

 Prophase
 Metaphase
 Anaphase
 Telophase

 Is that the only part of Cell cycle?  (all students) NO!

 So what is cytokinesis?

 Okay mr./ms (students) any idea?  Cytokinesis is the part of the cell division process
during which the cytoplasm of a single eukaryotic cell
divides into two new daughter cells.
 Very Good!  (all students will clap)
 So what is cell division?  Cell division is the process by which a parent cell
divides into 2 or more daughter cells. Cell division
usually occurs as part of a cell cycle.
 Very Good!  (all students will clap)
ELABORATE
 I will show you some short video clips that will  The students will watch the clips and taking note some

and how important to our body.
(show a video clip)

 Since we had already finished our activity and

discussion, you already learned something.

 What did you learned from our lesson today? Ok,  I have learned that cells undergo cell division by which
Ms./Mr. (Student), a parent cell divides into 2 new daughter cells.

 Very good! How about you, Ms./Mr. (Student)?  I have learned that organisms are composed of cell/s.

 Very good! How about you, Ms./Mr. (Student)?  The stages of cell cycle are the Growth 1 phase or the
