This study examined the relationship between Islamic parenting skills and juvenile delinquency among students at SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Yogyakarta. The study used a quantitative correlational method with a cross-sectional approach, surveying 66 students and their parents. Results found that the majority of parents demonstrated good Islamic parenting skills and students reported low levels of juvenile delinquency. A statistical analysis found a significant negative correlation between Islamic parenting skills and juvenile delinquency, indicating that stronger Islamic parenting skills are associated with lower rates of delinquent behavior among students.

Background : Adolescence is a transitional period that is identical to juvenile
delinquency. Family is one of the factors causing juvenile delinquency. An family effort to overcome juvenile delinquency by adopt a good parenting style. One of parenting style is Islamic parenting skill. Purpose : To gain an understanding about the relationship of Islamic parenting skill with juvenile delinquency at SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Yogyakarta. Method : Correlational quantitative with cross sectional approach. The population in this research are 191 students and their parents. The sample in this study were 66 respondents who were taken by simple random sampling technique with Slovin formula. Instrument of this research is an Islamic parenting skill questionnaire with and juvenile delinquency questionnaire with ordinal scale. Analysis in this reseach uses Spearman Rho correlation. Results : The results of this research are the majority of Islamic parenting skills in good category (92.4%) and low juvenile delinquency (84.8%). Correlation test results show the correlation coefficient using Spearman Rho is -0.678 with a significance of 0.000 (p value < 0.05). Conclusions : There are relation between Islamic parenting skill and juvenile delinquency at SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Yogyakarta.
