I&am&writing&to&recommend&Ms.&Lauren&Caturano&for&a&teaching&position&in&your&school&district.&&I&have&had&the&
privilege&of&teaching&Ms.&Caturano&in&several&courses&in&Elon&University’s&Elementary&Education&program.&&I&first&got&
to&know&her&in&January&of&2014&when&I&taught&her&first&education&course,&School&and&Society.&&She&was&an&excellent&
student&in&that&course&and&I&was&excited&to&see&her&name&on&my&roster&again,&as&I&taught&her&in&both&semesters&of&
her&senior&year&at&Elon&University.&&In&the&fall&of&2015,&Ms.&Caturano&was&a&student&in&my&math&and&science&methods&
course,&in&which&I&evaluated&her&coursework&and&supervised&her&completion&of&a&90Nhour&internship&in&a&
kindergarten&classroom.&&I&am&currently&supervising&her&14Nweek&student&teaching&experience&in&that&same&
kindergarten&classroom,&and&also&teaching&her&senior&capstone&seminar.&

It&has&been&a&joy&to&get&to&know&Ms.&Caturano!&In&class,&she&is&an&active&learner,&asking&questions&to&deepen&and&
solidify&her&understanding.&&She&is&extremely&organized&and&able&to&communicate&and&collaborate&with&anyone,&
regardless&of&differences.&&Ms.&Caturano&exhibits&a&level&of&professionalism&that&is&not&often&seen&in&22&year&olds.&&In&
all&of&her&practicum&settings,&her&cooperating&teachers&have&rated&her&as&exceeding&expectations&in&terms&of&her&
dispositions,&professionalism,&and&work&ethic.&&&

Paralleled&to&her&academic&strengths&and&professionalism&are&Ms.&Caturano’s&stellar&teaching&abilities.&&Having&had&
the&chance&to&observe&her&several&times&this&year,&every&time&I&am&in&her&classroom,&I&am&more&impressed&than&the&
last,&and&so&proud&that&she&is&one&of&my&students.&&She&truly&understands&the&role&she&plays&in&preparing&her&little&

kindergarteners&for&success&in&the&21 &century.&&She&encourages&her&students&to&communicate&with&each&other,&and&
engages&them&in&developmentally&appropriate&tasks&that&push&them&to&think&critically.&&She&naturally&proves&that&
kindergarteners&can&think&at&higher&levels,&due&to&the&lessons&and&activities&she&engages&them&in!&&She&has&done&a&
phenomenal&job&of&unpacking&the&Common&Core&standards&to&understand&what&her&students&should&know&and&be&
able&to&do.&&She,&in&turn,&plans&creative&learning&experiences&that&engage&her&kindergarteners&in&a&variety&of&ways.&&

Consistently,&Ms.&Caturano&brings&learning&to&life&and&works&to&instill&a&love&for&learning&in&her&students.&&Her&
