“Difficulties Met by the Selected Gr.

II Prebace Maritime Students of Educational Systems

Technological Institute. In Three Subjects Academic Year 2018-2019”

Objectives: To identify the difficulties by Selected Gr. 11 Prebaee Maritime Students of

Educational Systems Technological Institute in their Subjects Academic Year 2018-2019.

Statement of the Problems

1. What are the subjects that Prebace Maritime Gr. 11 Students have difficulty?

2. What do Prebace Maritime Gr. 11 Students and those subjects difficults?

3. What are the coping mechanisms of the Prebace Maritime Gr. 11 Students regarding the

said difficulties?
ABSTRACT

This study was conducted to investigate the difficulties met by the selected grade 11 Pre-

bace. Maritime Students of Educational Systems Technological Institute in their subjects

academic year 2018-2019.

The descriptive survey method was utilized in this study. The researchers – made

instruments consisted of open-ended questions administered to the fifty (50) selected

respondents.

The study showed that the subjects that Pre-Bacc Maritime Grade 11 Students have

difficulties is the Pre-calculus with the percentage of (66%) of the total respondents responses to

the given questions. Also it revealed that students find the subject difficult are that the poor

study habits with the total of (33%), boredome in the academic subjects with (12%) and lack of

interest having (5%) of the total responses from the respondents. Regarding on the said

difficulties, the coping mechanics of the Pre-Bacc. Maritime Students are those advance reading

with the percentage of (21%), self-reading with (12%) and (12%) is the positive mind set /

positive appraisal.

INTRODUCTION

Difficulties Met by the Selected Gr. 11 Pre-Bacc Maritime Students of Educational

Systems Technological Institute in their subjects Academic Year 2018-2019. There are many

students encountered many difficulties about their chosen strand like this the Pre-Bacc Maritime

other students says that there are other subjects that is hard for them like the Calculus, General

Mathematics, Practical eeee, Statistics and Probability and the Basic Calculus and the other

difficulties that they encountered are tiredness, boredom in academic subjects, problems to the

teacher instruction, poor grammar competency and difficulty in establishing desirable

relationship with classmates and teachers. And the coping mechanics like self-reading, advance

reading, positive eeeee, positive appraisal and peer / social support.


Chapter II

METHODOLOGY

This chapter deals on the method research to be used, the description of the respondents

to be involved, the research instrument the source of the data, the statistical treatment to be

employed and procedures to be followed in conducting this particular study.

Research Method and Design

This particular study utilized the descriptive method of research with the emphasis in the

“Difficulties Met By the Selected Gr. 11 Pre-Bacc Maritime Students of Educational Systems

Technological Institute in their subjects Academic Year 2018-2019. Analyzed it, and finally

given a conclusion based on the survey did by researchers.

Statistical Treatment

After gathering the data were tallied tabulated and analyzed. In order to determine the

extent variables consider in the study, percentage, frequency.

Percentage – will be used to show comparison of the distribution of responses on specific items

of the questionnaires on the category frame.

Frequency – will be used to identify the total number of answer of the respondents according to

this respondents on the down checked.

The difficulties is the Precalculus with the percentage of (66%), the poor study habits

with the total of (33%), boredom in the academic subjects with (12%), lack of interest having

(5%), the coping mechanisms of the Pre-Bacc Maritime Students and those advance reading with

the percentage of (21%), self-reading with (17%) and (12%) for the positive eeee positive

appraisal.
FINDINGS

We got our topic from the students of Educational Systems Technological Institute in

Murallon, Boac, Marinduque. We give atleast 30 questions to the Pre-Bacc Maritime to identify

the result of the “Difficulties Met by the Selected Gr. 11. Pre-Bacc Maritime Students of

Educational Systems, Technological Institute in their Academic Year 2018-2019” by using tally,

we identify what are subjects and financial problems they encountered the most highest percent

that they encountered is the Pre-calculus it has percentage of 66% and the lowest percent is the

lack of interest it have 5%. We did these difficulties because all of us or our groupmates

encountered these types of difficulties.


Chapter III

REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE (RRL)

From the International Mathematics Olympiad details showed that the Philippine rank

79th out of 82 countries in 2003 and 80th out of 82 foreign countries in 2004. Based on the

possible maximum points of 225 China got highest score of 220 points. Vietnam 126, Thailand

29, and the Philippines 16 point (DepEd, 2003). It is learning that Filipinos are found lacking in

the ability of basic Mathematics. Research studies being done regarding the basic Mathematics

knowledge of teacher show their deficiency.

According to ( 2003) it is more significantly those parents / teachers find time for

their students/children to read to make their children become efficient and skilled readers and for

these to develop high reading performance.

According to Taylor (1986) model or coping has been adopted and use by social worker,

teacher, students and administration when managing stressful events. The model which was

further adopted perfected by Muersing (1996) shows the individuals mental and physical well-

being and his/her preventive behavior as the outcome variables of coping.

According Trimmer (1992), there are unexpected difficulties and problems that the

students encountered in their studies related to the subject they are studying and they may lead to

academic this study is conducted to investigate the difficulties encountered by the student in their

academic subjects during the first and second semester in Educational Systems Technological

Institute of the School Year 2018-2019.


According to the studies did by Robert and Sampson (2011). Found that the member of

Educational board will be educated and their impact on school is positive, for professional

development it is essential for student learning.

RECOMMENDATION

After gathering data to the study entitled “Difficulties Met by Selected Gr. 11 Pre-Bacc

Maritime Students of Educational Systems Technological Institute in their subjects Academic

Year 2018-2019. To avoid the difficulties of the Pre-Bacc Marines they more focus on the their

academic objects, avoid using gadgets if it is not required to eee in the subject, they must give

their time for the subjects not in other non-sense things because that is the key to success and you

must do self-reading, or advance reading and positive mindset.
