½ CW for the TOV, D, R & y – intercept and graphing paper for the
graphs
Activity:
1. Complete a table of values (use integer x – values -3 to 3).
2. Sketch the graph. Find the domain, range and y – intercept.
3. Explain how your graph of 𝑓(𝑥) compares with the graph of
𝑓(𝑥) = 2𝑥
Functions:
a. 𝑓(𝑥) = −(2𝑥 ) d. 𝑓(𝑥) = 2−𝑥
b. 𝑓(𝑥) = 3(2𝑥 )
2
c. 𝑓(𝑥) = (2𝑥 )
5
*Use four Cartesian planes. Each Cartesian plane has 2 graphs –
f(x) = 2x and the given function.

½ CW for the TOV, D, R & y – intercept and graphing paper for the
graphs
A. Sketch the graph of 𝑓(𝑥) = 3𝑥 −2 + 1 and identify the domain,
range and y- intercept. Describe the behavior of f(x) as x
increases in value. (Use -3 to 3 for TOV)
B. Construct a table of values and in one Cartesian Coordinate
Plane, sketch the graph of the following.
1. 𝑓(𝑥) = 2𝑥
2. 𝑓(𝑥) = 2−𝑥
3. 𝑓(𝑥) = −(2𝑥 )
4. 𝑓(𝑥) = −(2−𝑥 )
