Methodology of Design by SAP 2000

Design Calculations will be performed SAP 2000 Bridge Modeller. The following bridge
elements will be modelled.
1. Vehicle
2. Vehicle classes
3. Material properties of the bridge like steel concrete of specific grade
4. Bridge sections as provided or modified as required.
5. Variation of temperature will be considered during modelling
6. Modelling bridge girder with provisional bearing support
7. Top slab modelled as a shell without axial compression / tension
8. Bearing with springs and dampener
9. Provisions for rigid joints at bearing level for Integral Bridges
10. Modelling soil support of footing / pile / caisson through equivalent springs
11. Modelling wind load with equivalent surface pressure
12. Preparation of the report of analysis through SAP report writer

Reinforcement calculations and Prestress loss calculations will be done in SAP and will be
checked in Excel for typical cases. However, that will be limited to 10% of the problem.
