Goal
Qn1:
Qn2:
How to pick release partial quantity from a specific locator and the rest from a different locator?
Qn3:
How to reserve an Order Line against a specific subinventory/locator at the time of Order Entry?
Qn4:
Can we restrict a Sales Order from being shipped unless there is a reservation?
Solution
An1:
On the Pick Release form , under Inventory tab , specify the Pick From Subinventory and Locator from
which you want the Item to shipped.
Pick Release will honor the Pick From Subinventory and/or Locator specified at the time of Pick Release.
An2:
To pick the quantities from different locators , you would need to split the Order Lines and reserve the
item for the required quantity against a specific locator during order entry. This will ensure only that
locator can be used for this particular order line.
An3:
Use Tools -- Scheduling -- Reservations Details , on the Sales Order form to reserve the Lines against
specific Subinventory/Locator.
An4:
Check the Prior Reservations Only check box on the Pick Release form and perform the Pick Release ,
this will ensure only those Orders with existing reservations are picked.
Q1.
Upon creating order and checking inventory availability, the order line quantity is requesting more than
the total inventory quantity available for reservation. Customer DOES NOT want this line to partially pick.
Currently no setting has been found to stop the system from partially picking. How can one prevent partial
picking from occuring ?
Solution

Please refer to Chapter 4 (Oracle Shipping Execution Setup), Pages 36-37 of the same manual, which
talks about 'Enforce Ship Sets and Ship Models' field on the Shipping Parameters form and how it can be
used to prevent Partial Picking.
