This form is for requesting that your residence permit will not be cancelled because of your residence abroad.
There has to be a special or exceptional reason for your residence abroad. You must submit your application
within two years of moving from Finland. If you have an EU residence permit (PE-U) granted by Finland and you
reside within the European Union, you must submit your application within six years of moving from Finland.
A processing fee pursuant to the decree on fees will be charged for the application. The processing fee of 100
euros should be paid in advance to the Finnish Immigration Service’s bank account FI50 5000 0121 5029 82. If
you pay the fee abroad, please give the following information: Pohjola Bank Plc, BIC: OKOYFIHH and IBAN:
FI50 5000 0121 5029 82. Write your name and the text “Application for preventing the cancellation of a
residence permit” in the message field of the bank transfer. Attach a document on the payment to your
application.

If the documents are not in Finnish, Swedish or English, they must be accompanied by a translation into one of these languages made by
an authorised translator.
The information you have given on this form will be recorded in the electronic case management system (UMA) of the Finnish
Immigration Service. The UMA system is used for processing, decision-making and monitoring of matters governed by the Aliens
Act and the Nationality Act. All documents related to the processing of your matter will be filed in the UMA system. More detailed
information of the processing on your personal data and your rights related to the processing will be given in the privacy statement
