_Amesting was conducted in the Office of Charter Schools.on August 14, 2018 to discuss ADA concerns
with the fecities utile by New Vision Academy. Dusing that meeting, we dscusseda contractor's
‘report dated April 2, 2015, thet outlined a numberof compllancelsues needed in order forthe facity
to-be ADA compliant A shot Ist of items needing tobe completed was discussed at the August 14
‘meeting and those items were to have been started so0n afer ths meeting. During tis meeting with
the Office of Charter Schools, which included board member Seth Marti, i as agreed that New Vision
‘Academy would provide monthly updates on the work being completed in order to become ADA
compliant. Since the August 14 meeting, no updates have been provided to this offic.
Another meeting was held on December 12,2018, to discus several areas of concern with New Vision
‘adem During this meeting, it was share that the school was waiting on a bank oan inorder to
begin addressing the ADA compliance items. The Office of Charter Schoo's was not Informed nor
provided any updates unt this meeting, whch was 4 months later. This is of great concern
Its the responsoty of New Vision Academy to provide 2 building that meets the needs of al children,
provides a safe environment fr learning and satisfies al State and Federal laws relevant to educating
chide, New Vision Academy has flied to demonstrate» god faith effort to address the ADA,
‘compliance items presented in April and has fled to provide te Office of Charter Schools ona monthly
timeline of progress or lack thereof. tis unacceptable that the school has not begun to address the ADA
‘compliance needs from Api, 2018 As rest, failure to comply with the provisions below can cesuit in
‘the school receiving probationary status and up toa recommendation for closure
{ADA upgrades will begin no later than January 15, 2019.
2. New Vision Academy wil provide a full eport tothe Ofce of Charter Schools onthe work
Performed no later than the fst ofeach month beginning on February 1, 2018
3. AIADA modifications willbe compete no later than July 2, 2018.‘Te office of Charter Schools stands ready to help withthe resolution as we can, but please understand
