Resumen/detalles
A cat with hind limb paralysis, stiffness of the other hind limb, urination disturbance and trauma on the caudal back was presented. By the clinical signs and neurological
and radiographic examinations, the diagnosis of the contusion of the spinal cord with the severe muscle damage was suggested. Initially, the cat was treated with
corticosteroids and vitamin B complex, however the signs were not significantly changed. Then electro- acupuncture with a low frequency current and microwave therapy
were applied to enhance the healing process. As a result, the function of the paralytic limb markedly recovered. The other hind limb with severe trauma was amputated,
however the patient showed enough excercise ability with a good physical condition.
