DSAWM-204PBI2 4-Slot-Mounting Kit with Lightning Protection

1. GENERAL

1.1 Document Purpose

This document provides installation information for the


Westell DSAWM-204PB Issue 2 4-Slot Mounting Kit with
Lightning Protection, which is shown in Figure 1. For specific
details on the 4-slot mounting assembly included with this kit,
see the 4-slot mounting assembly practice included with that
assembly.

- NOTE -
Hereafter, the DSAWM-204PBI2 4-Slot-Mounting Protection
Kit may be referred to as the Protect 4" kit or mounting.

1.2 Document Status

Whenever this document is updated, the reason will be stated


in this paragraph. Revision B updates Paragraph 1.3, Figure 2,
and Table 2.

1.3 Product Purpose and Features

The Protect 4 kit is designed to provide a lightning-protected


mounting for up to four 200 MECHANICS modules (or two
400-type modules). The pre-assembled kit contains the follow-

Installation consists of inspecting the kit for damage, following

2.1 Following Safety Precautions

2.2 Gathering Tools and Supplies


The following tools and supplies are recommended to mount the
kit.

 Awl or drill with assorted wood or cement bits


 Drywall fasteners, cement-type wall fasteners, or wood
screws (depending on the mounting surface; wood screws
are provided with the kit)
Lift and place kit against the wall. Mark the mounting hole locations

mounting screws until only ¼" remains. Lift and hang the kit on the screws. Finish
