    Professor sues Rhodes College

    A Rhodes College professor filed an employment discrimination suit against the school Thursday, claiming she
    was held to higher standards than male colleagues.

    Anne Wilson Mitchell contends in her Chancery Court suit that she received a low annual evaluation from
    superiors who said they were unhappy with her rate of publication in professional journals.

    Mitchell, who was on a tenure track in the international studies department, was told her contract would not be
    renewed this year after she protested, according to the suit.

    The suit asks for $360,000 in compensatory damages and reinstatement or lost salary.

    Rhodes spokesman Helen Norman said the college does not comment on personnel matters
