Assessment Plan:

1. Pre-Assessment:
 Ask students questions concerning sculptures, who makes sculptures, what are
sculptures made of. Other questions include how sculpture differs from different
forms of art.

2. Formative Assessment:
 Create a sculpture made out of clay after learning about what sculptures are and
where they originated. Write about their sculpture, what it is and what it
represents.
 Create a sculpture out of paper and glue. Experimenting with various approaches
to art making. Write about their sculpture, what it is and what it represents.
 Create a sculpture out of toothpicks and marshmallows and explaining the process
of making art while creating. Write about their sculpture, what it is and what it
represents.
Other Evidence:
 Creating multiple forms of sculptures while using different materials.
 Using the vocabulary of art and sculptures.
 Writing about their sculpture and giving a detailed description of it.

3. Summative Assessment:
 Will be the same as the pre-assessment, including some of the essential questions
that were not already on the pre-assessment.
