I. OBJECTIVES (Layunin)

A. Content Standards

B. CONCEPT:
1. Lithosphere the solid material of the earth.
2. Minerals – are naturally occurring elements. They are single
elements or compounds found naturally in the crust of the
earth. They have a fixed chemical composition and usually
made up of orderly arrangements of atoms with definite
crystal structure. They are inorganic. (not derived from
living things)
3. Rocks are solid chemical and physical units covering any
considerable portion of the earth’s surface.
4. Igneous rocks are rocks that are formed from molten
materials originating from beneath the earth’s surface.
5. Magma – are molten materials.
