OBJECTIVES

 To determine the characteristics installed in three control valves in their respective piping
system.
INTRODUCTION

The experiment was run basically to study the installed characteristics of three control valves in
their respective piping system. Control Valve is the process that used in this experiment. Basically,
control valves are the valves that used to control a variable in a certain system like temperature,
pressure or flow. The valves can operate by opening or closing based on variable’s conditions
either completely or partially from its normal conditions or better known as a setpoint. In most
operation plants, the changes are sent as a signal (usually electrical) from the transmitter to the
controller, where the signal is received, processed and analyzed before sending the resulting
control signal to the valves themselves. Control valves consist of three main parts which are valve’s
actuator, valve’s positioner and valve’s body. Each part exists in several types and design.

There were two pumps that were involved during running this process which are small pumps and
big pumps. These pumps helps in moving the fluid or slurries by mechanical action. Pumps can be
categorized to three major groups based on the method use to move the fluid. Big pump has larger
flow capacity compared to small pump. So, small pump conducted first, then followed by big
pump. The results can be taken from recorder FDPZR and pressure gauge. Pressure gauge is
basically an instrument to measure the pressure of fluid. It is often used instrument in a plant. This
is because of their great numbers, easy to maintenance and reliability can be comporomised
