Period #5 Civil War and Reconstruction

This chapter mainly focused on the United States and how

they worked on expanding their territory. As well as
controlling and compact the use of slaves.
Comparison

United States was not united and was rather separated during
this period because one part of the U.S. had different ideas
than the others.

United States is unified together as one and does not have a

problem or disagreement of an sort
Contextualization

● Continental Expansion
● Texas Revolt
● War between Southern Unionist
● The emergence of Lincoln
● Pause on Slavery
● Addition to new laws
Historical Argumentations

Some historical argumentation that were made would be that

slaves should be kept in United States. That was the big talk
during this period and was a cause of a conflict which made
the southern Union want to separate from the rest of
America. Unioners were arguing that Slaves should be kept
because that was a big help for them in their jobs and without
them it would make a big impact.
Historical Appropriate Use of
Relevant Historical Evidence
The people used the idea that without slavery, it would affect
the agriculture of the Unioners. Without the help of slaves it
would weaken it and therefore would not be able to produce
as much as it use to do. Which made people think that having
slaves are a benefit.
Interpretation

The way this was explained was to make the reader

understand how everything went from the start of the
expansion and how did United States manage to expand their
territory. As well as why there was a disagreement between
the unioners and the government and explain what acts took
place after.
