How to Setup PlayStation 4 - Cord Setup

Step 1: Take the power Cable(B) (Side 1) and plug it into your power source(H) (e.g.: Wall Outlet, Extension
Cord, etc.) (NOT PICTURED)
WARNING: DO NOT INTRODUCE ELECTRICITY IF OUTLET OR PLUG IS WET

Step 2: Take the power cable(B) (Side 2) and plug it into the power port on your PlayStation console(D).

Step 3: Take your HDMI Cable(A) and plug it into the HDMI input port on your monitor/TV(G). (NOT
PICTURED)

Step 4: Plug the other end of your HDMI cable(A) into the HDMI output port on your PlayStation console(D).
Step 5: Plug the USB charging cable(E) into the USB plug on the front of your console. (NOT PICTURED)

Step 6 (Optional): Plug your ethernet cord(H) into your router’s(F) ethernet output port. (NOT PICTURED)

Step 7 (Optional): Plug your ethernet cord(H) into the PlayStation’s(D) ethernet input port.

How to Setup PlayStation 4 -

Console Setup

Power On - Press the oval button on the front

of your console to power on your device.
Screen One - Controller Setup:
Once the blue screen on your monitor lights up, plug your USB charging cable into your
controller(C) and press the circular button with the PlayStation logo on it. After the controller syncs use it
while following these instructions, to set up the console.

Screen Two - Choose a Language:

After you have set up your controller
you will be taken to a screen that has a large
list of different languages to choose from.
Using the left analog stick on your controller
(Figure B) find the language you would like to
set as primary. After you have found the
preferred language, hover over it and click
the ‘X’ button on your controller.

Screen Three - Internet Setup:

Option 1 - Wi-Fi: Once you have
selected your language the screen will then
change to the internet setup screen. Using
your controller select the option Wi-Fi
connection, then scroll onto the Wi-Fi
network you would like to connect to and
press the ‘X’ button. Then, use the on-screen
keyboard to input your Wi-Fi password. Once
you’re finished with the input of your password, press the “Next” button at the bottom of your screen.

Option 2 - LAN Cable: Using your controller select the option “LAN Cable”. The console should then
automatically configure your Wi-Fi for you. If you get an error make sure you followed steps 6 and 7 on
page 2. If you continue to get an error, switch to option one.

Screen 4 - Configure Time

To configure your console's clock to your time zone,
scroll through the time zone list in the middle of the screen
until you find your time zone. Click the desired time zone
and then the continue button at the bottom of the screen.

Screen 6 - User Agreement

Scroll through the user agreement
displayed on the screen and when you are
finished click the “Accept” button at the bottom
of the screen if you accept the terms and
conditions and “Do Not Accept” if you don’t.
Screen 7 - Log In
To log in to the home screen of your console click the ‘X’ button while hovering over the profile
named “USER 1”. After this proceed to play games on your console at your ease.
