By the end of the lesson, students should be able to:

1. Be sure all students have a general understanding of the activity prior to engaging in the activity.
2. Keep their back to the wall in order to be able to foresee any potential harmful or negligent situations.
3. Completely go over all RRE’s in order to ensure a safe and positive learning environment during the introduction.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS - What are the safety concerns? What is unique about the students in this class?
1. Not all students may fully understand the differences in all skills so being aware of struggling students will benefit the students learning
2. Review proper tagging strategies to avoid negligent acts

0-5 Introduction: Students will come into the class and sit in their squad
lines, on their way in the teacher will make sure all students are
appropriately dressed. SSSSS
Teacher will introduce self and goal of the day: SSSSS
WALT: Practice aspects of fleeing, chasing, and dodging. SSSSS
Safety: Teacher will acknowledge the boundaries to the activity area, T SSSSS
and ask students to state the rules of the class. SSSSS
Signals: Teacher will address the signals: 3, 2, 1 Freeze, Ready Go.
Purpose: Teacher will state the purpose of fleeing, chasing and
dodging, and will ask students how they might be able to utilize
fleeing chasing and dodging (the reasoning will be reinstated in
debriefs)
5-6 Transition: Teacher will dismiss students to move from squad lines to
personal space for the warm up
6-9 Warm Up: Students will line up for sharks and minos: T S S S S S
2 sharks will tell the minos to cross the ocean, when a mino is S S S S s S
tagged, they become seaweed and will stand in place, if a S s S S
new mino is caught in the seaweed they will also become S S S S
seaweed. Final 2 people will be the new sharks. S S S

21 Transition: Teacher will stop the game and ask for student helpers to
set up the next activity, while the teacher talks to students about the
previous activity
21-33 Activity 2: Bowling pin tag X X X
The class will be split up into two teams, each team will have 3
bowling pins. The objective of the game is to run to the opponent’s
side, knock down a pin, gently with the hand, and make it back to SSSSSSSSSSSS
your side before you get tagged. Students may only get tagged while
on the opponents side, if a student is tagged they must go to jail and
await either a teacher led jailbreak, or a partner to come and free them
for a free trip back to their side

Extension Up: Students will have to bring the bowling pin back to
their side and put it on the line. First team to have 5 bowling pins
