Addendum

The following communication, dated 23 March 2001, from the Permanent Mission of India to
the Chairman of the Dispute Settlement Body, is circulated pursuant to Article 21.6 of the DSU.

Status Report on Progress in the Implementation of the


Recommendations or Rulings of the Dispute Settlement Body (the "DSB")
under Article 21.6 of the Understanding on Rules and Procedures
Governing the Settlement of Disputes (the "DSU") by India in
"India – Quantitative Restrictions on Imports of Agricultural,
Textile and Industrial Products" (WT/DS90)

In accordance with Article 21.6 of the Understanding on Rules and Procedures Governing the
Settlement of Disputes, India presents its eighth status report on progress in implementation of the
recommendations and rulings of the DSB in "India – Quantitative Restrictions on Imports of
Agricultural, Textile and Industrial Products" (WT/DS90).

Pursuant to paragraph 2(b) of the mutual agreement between the parties to the dispute with
respect to the "reasonable period of time", contained in WT/DS90/15, India had implemented the
recommendations and rulings of the DSB in respect of "all the other items" by 1 April 2000.

Pursuant to paragraph 2(a) of this agreement, India had notified to the United States the list of
715 items in respect of which India maintains quantitative restrictions and for which the reasonable
period of time will expire on 1 April 2001. India will abide by its WTO commitments in this regard.
