1 Installing the Software

Section 1 will guide the user through installing the Technician Assistant
software on his/her computer with the following sections:

1.1 Identifying your computers Operation System

1.2 Installing Technician Assistant

Thank you for using the Technician Assistant software for your diagnostic needs. We feel the
more you use the product and become familiar with its functionality, the more you will appreciate
its capabilities and become more adept at employing it to its full potential.

1.1 Identifying your computer’s Operation System

To locate your computer’s Operation System (32-bit or 64-bit)


• Left click the windows icon in the bottom left hand side of the screen
• Right click on “Computer”
• Left click on “Properties”
This will bring up basic information about your computer. Look under the system type heading
and it will say either 32-bit Operating System or 64-bit Operating System.

Important: Make a note of what operating system your computer has.

1.2 Installing Technician Assistant

To install the Technician Assistant software


• Insert the USB flash drive into a USB port on you computer

When your computer detects the USB flash drive it will bring up an auto display window.
• Left click the “Open folder to view files” option

If your computer does not bring up the auto display window.


• Left click the windows icon in the bottom left hand side of the screen
• Left click on “Computer”
• Locate and Left click the drive that you inserted your USB flash drive into

Look at your notes and double Left click the file that has the correct Operating System for your
computer
• Left click “Next”

• Under User Name type in your name


• Under Organization type in your dealer name
• Left click “Next”

• Left click “Install”


• Left click “Yes” when it asks if you want to allow the install

• Left click “Next”


• Left click “Finish”

• Left click “Finish”

Congratulations the installation of Technician Assistant is now complete.

IMPORTANT: The Technician Assistant USB cable must be plugged in to the computer’s USB
port before launching the Technician Assistant program.
If the USB cable is not plugged in before you try to launch the Technician Assistant program, the
following error code will appear and the program will automatically close.
