that the Holy Spirit, coming near and
dwelling graciously within us, may make of
us a perfect temple of his glory.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity
of the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and
ever.
All: Amen.

SECOND READING
Galatians 5:16, 22.225

GOSPEL John 20:19-23
Priest/Deacon: The Lord be with you.
All: And with your spirit.
Priest/Deacon: A reading from the holy Gospel
according to John.
All: Glory to you, O Lord.
Priest/Deacon: On the evening of the first day of
the week, when the doors were locked,
where the disciples were for fear of the
Jews, Jesus came and stood in their midst
and said to them, “Peace be with you”.
When he had said this, he showed them his
hands and his side. The disciples rejoiced
when they saw the Lord. Jesus said to them
again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has
sent me, so I send you.” And when he had
said this, he breathed on them and said to
them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. Whose sins
you forgive are forgiven them, and whose
sins you retain are retained.”
7
Commentator: Please remain standing.
After the Bishop blesses the people with the Gospel Book,

his Death and Resurrection, we offer you,
Lord, the Bread of life and the Chalice of

giving thanks that you have held us worthy
to be in your presence and minister to you.
Humbly we pray that, partaking of the Body

into one by the Holy Spirit.
Concelebrant: Remember, Lord, your Church,
spread throughout the world, and bring
her to the fullness of charity, together
with Francis our Pope and Danilo our

today by bestowing the Holy Spirit and
keep them in grace.
