Proposal
A rice huller or rice husker is an agricultural machine used to automate the process
of removing the chaff (the outer husks) of grains of rice. Throughout history, there
have been numerous techniques to hull rice. Traditionally, it would be pounded
using some form of mortar and pestle. An early simple machine to do this is a rice
pounder. Later even more efficient machinery was developed to hull and polish
rice. These machines are most widely developed and used throughout Asia where
the most popular type is the Engelberg huller designed by German
Brazilian engineer Evaristo Conrado Engelberg in Brazil and first patented in
1885.
The Engelberg huller uses steel rollers to remove the husk. Other types of huller
include the disk or cono huller which uses an abrasive rotating disk to first remove
the husk before passing the grain to conical rollers which polish it, this is done
repeatedly since other sides of circular side of rice are nut husked. Rubber rollers
may be used to reduce the amount of breakage of the grains, so increasing the yield
of the best quality head rice, but the rubber rollers tend to require frequent
replacement, which can be a significant drawback.

Problem Identification
This machine is heavy because it made by metals such as iron, alloy, hardly to
move to somewhere far. They also use a lot of electricity to work, and high cost to
make.

Design Characteristic
Function-

To remove the shells from grains of rice

Technical requirement-

High-performance peeled, usually peeled efficiency 99%.

Rate of fractures, broken, crushed low.

Safety-

This machine is big and heavy, it will be harmful if it lies on our body.
Should not let the kids play with it when it both in work and in rest.

Appearance-

The appearance of this fan is very big therefor it use a lot of energy to make
operation. It is easy to use and safe electricity.

Durability-

This machine made by iron, it will be rusty when the protective coating has
gone. It can be used for very long time about more than 20 years.

Weight-

The weight of this milling machine is very heavy about more 50 kg.

Cost-

Many consideration needs to be made when cost being estimated. The cost
of material, manufacturing and other extraneous cost are all need to care for. In
order to maximize profits, evaluation of the market's competitive can be ignored.
There is no recurring cost for maintenance or anything else.

Color-

This product will have some colors, for example: green, blue, black...

Ease of use-

Model: 2008

Capacity (kg / h): 200-300

Speed (Cycle / min): 500-700

Engine power: 4 kw

Power: 220V - 380V

Operating Principle
Raw material will be put from the inlet.

The rice has peeled will be put into the chamber, the shell will be blown out.

Design Analysis

To develop the rice milling machine with the quality, we need to consider all sizes,
the materials… of the machine. The basic function of a rice mill machinery is to
remove the shell from rice and this should be accomplished for a long usage of
several years.

If the machine has stuck by the rice when we put so much raw material into it, the
machine will get damaged. Also depends on the quality of the raw materials, if the
rice is wet, it may make the machine sticking then the shell may not be removed.
To provide the good machine to the user, we need to consider all these conditions
below:

 Simple structure, compact size.

 Easy to navigate, scroll and maintenance.
DESIGN THE RICE MILL MACHINERY GROUP 7

 High durability because the details are designed and manufactured with high
quality.
 Constant pressure by changing the spring force to adjust brightness, allowing
the highest efficiency and lowest tank rice yield.
 There are parts covered to avoid dust when working.

The important specifications required for our components would be:

 Low Noise levels

 No Wobbling
 Durability
 Should not get rusted.
 Aesthetics
 Low cost

Conclusion
Designing of a rice mill machinery at all is a very complicated which involves
serious of other processes that are hard to be designed. It takes a very long time of
thinking of the proper dimensions, proper material and even the proper shape of all
different parts. The design of this machine is not less complicated process than any
machine.
