This small brochure explains the newly established 'Diponegoro Room' (Kamar
Diponegoro) in the former Batavia Town Hall (Stadhuis) now Jakarta History
Museum (Museum Sejarah Jakarta/MSJ) which will be officially opened on 1 April
2019. It is an exhibit on the Javanese prince, Diponegoro (1785-1855), who led the
Java War (1825-30) against the Dutch and was held for 26 days (8 April -3 May
1830) in the apartment of the city jailer of Batavia in the Town Hall while awaiting

Over the last decades Barcelona has experienced social and economic
transformations brought by the conversion of peripheral urban neighborhoods into
