Good afternoon everybody.

My name is Henry Chávez and today I will talk about to my favorite

film, honestly was a difficult decision for me choose only one, but finally I preferred Whiplash.
Well, Whiplash was written and directed by Damien Chazellen, in USA, the year 2014, It had as
central actor to Miles Teller and the story is this:

Andrew Neiman is drummer with nineteenth years old, who dreams of greatness, BUT doubts if
his dream will ever come true. Distressed by the unsuccessful career as a writer of his father. He
has the determination to make it to the top at the most prestigious music conservatory in the
country. One night, Terence Fletcher, an orchestra director known for his terrifying method of
instruction discovers Andrew practicing drums; and with little words he awakens in Andrew a
passion to reach his goal. For surprise for Andrew, the next day, Fletcher calls him to join his
orchestra changing his life as a young man forever.

At the beginning, Andrew is a substitute, who only spends the pages of the notes of the main
drummer. However, in the next competition of the band, the drummer's music is misplaced, but as
Andrew has memorized the notes, they give him the opportunity to play. In the end the band wins
the competition, and everything seems to indicate that Andrew will become the new "favorite
son" of Fletcher.

The obsessive effort of Andrew to get perfection, is born, and only encouraged by the
psychological and dangerous politics of Fletcher. The family of Andrew can barely recognize him,
since he lost his personality for reaching his goals relacionated with the music. Even Andrew's
father, a man with a very mild nature, finds it difficult recognize his son.

The social circle of Andrew begins to be much smaller until he is left alone with Fletcher. And even
this relationship is endangered for the ambitions of Andrew. In the course at the movie, both are
separated since their relationship was toxic; BUT one day they meet on the street and Fletcher
invites him to a concert that he was going to direct, BUT whit the purpose of embarrassing him.

Fortunately Andrew was the star, played perfectly and shone as the best. Whiplash won five
oscars, and it is my favorite movie because with this film I learned to persist in my dreams. Thank
you for all for hear me.
