Dear Sir/Madam

My name is Thoai Vy Ha, my English name is Thomas Ha. I am a final year international
student of Mechanical Engineering Technology in New Brunswick Community College
(NBCC). I am very interested in the Atlantic Canada Stay and Live program when I first
heard about it. I am writing this letter to tell you a little about myself and the reasons I
have chosen New Brunswick for studying and living.
I was born in a Vietnamese family in a developing country. That’s why I always try to
study efficiently and work hard to get success. I have one-year experience of working as
CAD/CAE Engineer in Tokyo, Japan; and 7-year experience of working as Aircraft
Engineer in Vietnam. Now I have been studying at NBCC.
There are several reasons that New Brunswick is my choice for studying and living.
Firstly, I was tired of living in big cities or crowded cities; I have been in Ho Chi Minh
City, which is the biggest city in Vietnam, over 25 years; also I have lived in the crowded
Tokyo city for a year; that’s why I want to find a peaceful and beautiful place to live like
New Brunswick. Secondly, the weather of New Brunswick is less severe than the other
places; particularly in Saint John, where I am living now, the climate is great.
I think I will be a good candidate for this program; because I have many experiences of
working in mechanical engineering field. Additionally, I am in good academic standing
with GPA 4.036/4.3, and I believe my grade will get higher by the next year. To benefit
my community, I will share my experiences learnt from real-world business issues with
the others in the cohort.
I have a dream and a plan after I graduate at the summer of next year. Firstly, I will find
a job within Atlantic region, then I will be able to apply for a permanent residency to
stay in Canada. After several years of working in Canadian companies, I will start my
own business with the experiences I would be gained from those companies. My
company will be definitely about mechanical technology field.
Thank you for considering my application, I look forward to joining in your program so
that I could learn more valuable things as well as help each other.

Thoai Ha
