Reading (English)
- Reading is the complex cognitive process of decoding symbols to derive meaning. It is a
form of language processing. Success in this process is measured as reading
comprehension. Reading is a means for language acquisition, communication, and
sharing information and ideas.

Pagbasa (Filipino)
- ang pagbasa ay proseso ng pag-aayos, pagkuha at pag-unawa ng anumang uri at anyo
ng impormasyon na kinakatawan ng mga salita o simbolo na kailangang tingnan at
suriin upang maunawaan. Ang mga sagisag na ito ag nagsisilbing instrumento upang
mabigyang kahulugan ang mga kaisipang gustong ipahayag.

Decoding (English)
- is the ability to apply your knowledge of letter-sound relationships, including knowledge
of letter patterns, to correctly pronounce written words.

Dekowding (Filipino)
- Ang dekowding ay ang pagsasalin ng simbolo sa tunog o biswal na representasyon ng
salita.

1. Perception (English)
 is the ability to see, hear, or become aware of something through the sense. It is also the
way, in which something is regarded, understood, or interpret the written symbols.
Persepsyon (Filipino)
 Ang persepsyon ay pagkilala sa mga nakalimbag na simbolo.

2. Comprehension (English)
 Reading comprehension is the ability to process text, understand its meaning, and to
integrate with what the reader already knows.
Komprehensyon (Filipino)
 Pagpoproseso ito ng isipan sa mga impormasyong ipinapahayag ng simbolong
nakalimbag.
 Ang pag-unawa sa teksto ay nagaganap sa hakbang na ito.

3. Reaction (English)
 A reader response asks the reader [you] to examine, explain and defend her/his
personal reaction to a reading. You will be asked to explore why you like or dislike
the reading, explain whether you agree or disagree with the author, identify the
reading's purpose, and critique the text.

 Hinahatulan o pinagpapasyahan ang kawastuhan, kahusayan, at pagpapahalaga ng
teksto sa hakbang na ito.

4. Assimilation (English)
 Assimilation refers to a part of the adaptation process initially proposed by Jean Piaget.
Throughassimilation, we take in new information or experiences and incorporate them
into our existing ideas.
