Skillions on Angled Walls

The job has been set up as 2 floors. Floor 1,the simple rectangular area and the attached angled wing (Bed1) as Floor 2.

Image 1 - Job example

Draw or trace in all the wall frames (both internal and external).Openings have all been done for this example. [if you need help with
inputting walls and openings please refer to Tutorial 1]. Below an indication of the frames and openings detailed in.
Select the rectangular section as the current floor by selecting Floors/Select Current Floor on the top toolbar and then click on the
Kitchen Bedroom Block.

This section of the job consists of a standard gable to gable over the bedroom end and a skillion over the Kitchen living end. All ceilings
are level. Below is an elevation from the architectural Plans.
Now Build block whole shape and a Gable to gable will be formed.

Then cut the block /vertical cut using the right hand side of the living to study wall.
Then you will have 2 gable to gable blocks. Next Modify block/ whole block and select the Kitchen end gable to gable. Change this to
a skillion as shown. (3 sides set to 90 degrees.)
Now add an eave to the top side of the skillion using Eaves/Build eave anywhere.

Now add the gable end verges

Use Roof Features/Outriggers/Add one face and select the vertical roof face and then the 2 points at each end of the verge.

Then in the same way use Roof features /outriggers/add 1 face to build a verge on the Kitchen end gable.
Then use the Roof features /outriggers/add faces (Note this is multi face not 1 face)

Select the gable end face on the Bedroom end of this block.

This block is now complete and trusses can be laid out. As they are recognised standard blocks the trusses will auto layout.

Now the Master Bedroom Suite.

Here we will look at an alternative and preferred option to that used in the first block. The skillion trusses will be landing inside the
perimeter walls and the external walls raised to the underside of the top chord eave projection. This will then enable cladding fixings to
be to the same lines as the wall framing and no infill battening or panels will be required.

Select the angled wing as the current floor using the floor menu on the top toolbar.(as previously indicated)

Build the Bed 1 block using the tool Build Block/Rectangular sub shape 4 edges as shown below.. Select the inside of the walls to
build the block.

Set the 3 sides to 90 degrees as shown and build the block

Then add the eaves using Eaves/ Build eaves block anywhere and select the edges to the high side and then the low side of the skillion.
Note eave is measured from the inside of the wall now and so in this case is 690mm. Add the verges to the gable ends using Roof
features/Outriggers/Add 1 face

Result is shown below. Trusses can be laid out now. As this is an unidentified block the trusses will be laid out using the unidentified
block tools. Note no rafter face.
Build the rafter block to the Dining Veranda

Again use Roof Shape/build block/Rectangular sub shape 4 edges

Select the 4 edges shown Yellow below. Set the pitches as shown to 90 and the front face to 5 degrees using OTHER on the dialogue
box.

Accept and then build the 1000 wide eave to the front face as shown using Roof Shape/Eaves/Build Eaves Block Anywhere. Follow
the prompts in green.

Build verges to the master bedroom wing using Roof Shape/Roof Features/Outriggers/add 1 face.

Raise the walls to the underside of the truss rafters. Use Walls/Wall height/Raise to one or more planes.

Now it's time to setup the roof trusses for all blocks.

Select Roof Components/Setup trusses

Trusses will build automatically to the Kitchen bedroom blocks.

The Bedroom Suite is an unidentified block and will be laid out using the Unidentified block layout tool. There are no rafter faces
required so cancel the rafter face identification pop-up

Set the start line to the end of the block shown in green
There is no need to place a truss on the start line as we will support the roof battens on the raised end wall. Ensure the layout tool is set
to Single cumulative and select Place truss until all the trusses are placed in the block.

Alternatively set a start and end line at each end of the block. Then set the layout tool to By number 7 and automatic as shown.
Select place trusses and the trusses will auto lay in this case 915 apart. (Note you will need to set the truss spacing to that spacing in
Job data roof data and apply the changed loading condition to this roof block in Roof Shape/Modify Block/Loading parameters and then
select the roof block). This will apply the new spacing in job data to that block (Only). The layout is shown below.

Skip the last block as we want to place CEE Purlins as rafters in this block.

We need to place angle supports to the heels of the Master bedroom trusses that are pitched to the inside of the walls.

These are added as walls/Beams/Angle 200 x 35 x 1.0

Select Walls /New Wall and set up Beams. Note that the height is to the top of the angle. Ie ceiling height plus 200mm. Select the
inside corners under the truss heels.
Now we delete trusses at the end of each roof block and raise the walls to the roof plane.

4 trusses to be deleted in Kitchen Bedroom block. Use Roof components/ Modify trusses/Delete Truss

Then select Walls/Wall height/Raise to one or more planes.

First select the 2 roof planes over Bed 2 and Bed 3 and then follow the prompts when both planes selected. Note it is best to do this
whilst in isometric to ensure correct planes are chosen. Select the end gable wall and raise to the roof plane as shown

The other 2 cross walls at the living/Study and to the end wall at the Laundry/Pantry should be raised to the skillion plabe as shown.
Likewise raise the walls at each end of the Master Bedroom wing.
Now we need to place rafters to the Veranda area. Refer to the rafter tables in the Endurotruss design manual to select the size of the
rafter. C20015 is an economical solution
Having established the beam depth raise the support walls to 200mm below the roof plane (-200 in the dialogue box) in this area in a
similar manner to that used previously.

The rafters are inserted as Beams in the wall menu. Place as load bearing to the pitching height. They will then be raised to the roof
plane.

Select Walls and set the walls to type BEAM . Note the setup below. Note that Floor 2 is chosen and the height is the nominated wall
height. When set as shown select Insert

Now we need a construction line to act as a starting line. Open the Construction lines Menu from the toolkit. Now select Perp from a
point to a line and insert the line shown in purple.

Then place additional lines 900 mm apart using copy line parallel. The end result is shown below.
Now close the construction line menu and select Insert/Trace. Place Beams on all the construction lines. Place all the walls above the
construction lines.
Now close the new wall menu and extend the beams to the eave line using the extend trim function. Then raise the beams to the roof
plane using the Wall height/Raise to one or more planes menu.
We now need to provide a support for the battens over the passage at the Living to Study. Do this by extending the wall to the outside
wall and placing an opening the full width of the passage.

Now we need some batten supports at the gable ends. These can be inserted as Beams Use CEE90 x 1mm from the ENDURO
Rollformer. Place construction lines 1000 from the outside of the walls as shown and these can be used as latch points to get the
outriggers the correct size. If RHS outriggers are required these can be selected instead of the C9010 channels. Setup as shown
below. Insert Trace. Then raise to the roof plane as before. End result is shown after parts are created.
