CPU Documentation Workshop

March 10, 2017 | Central Philippine University, Iloilo City

Objectives
The workshop aims to:
1. Enhance the skills of participants in documenting workshops, trainings, meetings, and
other forms of discussions relevant to a program, project, or activity.
2. Familiarize participants with the styles and conventions used by various organizations
in government, civil society, private sector, and international development agencies.
3. Familiarize participants with some documentation good practice.

Output
Documentation of a discussion (viewed via a video) that is appropriate for the audience,
purpose, and platform chosen by the participants themselves.

Participants
A group of 30-40, composed of faculty and staff of the university. For a fee, representatives
from government, NGOs, and the private sector may join.

Pre-Workshop Requirements
Participants are expected to submit the following prior to the workshop:
 Participant’s profile
 Organization’s profile
 Sample documentation that they have written

Approach
Each session in the workshop is a combination of lecture, discussion, multimedia presentation, and
writing. Most exercises are to be done individually.

Setup and Materials


 Laptops. Participants are strongly encouraged to their own laptops.
 Handouts. Soft copies can be downloaded from the online folder Participant's Kit in
https://goo.gl/wWOdvF
 Speaker and audio jack for laptop (video to be played)
 Projector and screen
 Chairs and tables for 30-40 participants. With enough space for each participant to
work on his laptop.

Resource Person
Moira Enerva is an independent consultant for communication and stakeholder
engagement. She has projects with the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, USAID,
Canada, International Finance Corporation, National Economic and Development Authority,
Local Government Academy – DILG, and National Council on Disability Affairs.
She has extensive experience in access to information, open data, public consultations,
online learning, and technical writing. She used to head the information development
group of Microsoft Business Solutions and Lawson Software.
Moira is a member of the board of trustees of Adaptive Technology for Rehabilitation,
Integration and Empowerment of the Visually Impaired, a not-for-profit center for
computer training, advocacy and services for the blind and low vision. She is also a
volunteer writer and voice-over for Pauline radio, a faith-based organization that
broadcasts programs in Asia.
